We had lunch at this hotel 6 years ago and hoped to come back and stay. We were fortunate to stay for 3 nights and had dinner in the restaurant all 3 nights. It appear to be a destination restaurant and we can see why - excellent food and wine list. The room was clean, comfortable and airconditioned - with a spectacular view of Lake Lugano. It is in a small village that is nice to explore.

Great value for your money
The hotel is nice and clean, staff very helpful. Amazing location, the view is spectacular. Breakfast was great, even with gluten free bread (ask for it). Also dinner at the restaurant was very nice, good food and afain, the view. Bed a bit lumpy, pillow firm but this place is great value for your money (we had economy room, so no balcony, unfortunately). We had our two dogs with us. There really isnt any place to walk dogs, but we managed. Would stay here again, thank you!

But of a trek to get to, but worth it! Plenty of parking and the staff is very friendly and helpful! There is a restaurant on the property (one of the only ones nearby) that is excellent and the staff will make reservations for your party in advance. The rooftop terrace has a wonderful view of the lake and surrounding city, and the provided breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip through Italy! The amenities are basic and be careful about opening the windows at night (there is no screen and the mosquitoes can be bad) but the bed was comfortable and the area is very quiet at night! Overall lovely experience and would definitely stay again!

Area around hotel is the best thing over there despite the hotel condition Rooms is outdated, ac is not working So you have to open windows but as soon as you opened windows you have to deal with huge mosquitoes instead of a good sleep i was fighting with those mosquitoes hotel supposed to do something with that cause that what I’m paying for at least to sleep well so next day i can continue with my trip The other issue was the smell of room that i have been given it’s smells very bad like it’s been a prostitutes room before Otherwise it’s perfect location with amazing views around

The hotel was really nice with rooms that have amazing views of Lake Lugano; the hotel is super clean and the pool area has even better views of the area; the restaurant is nice with an extensive menu and wine list; the only thing I would improve is the individual food and shampoo packaging to make it more Eco friendly; the staff is very friendly and helpful

Great location, great view, great service, nice breakfast. All good accept acoustics. Here all the noise of people in the hallways and adjacent rooms. Cleaning staff was making a-lot of noice at 8:30 in the morning.

Really nice hotel with mostly friendly staff. Restaurant is overpriced and at best half-decent. Pizzas are OK and wine-menu also OK. Hotel has really good standards otherwise and is more like a 4 star hotel than 3.

We found heaven between Italy and Switzerland
The photo shown on the Hotel Stampa 1968 page is accurate. It was our view from our Balcony each day of our two day stay here. The staff is excellent. The rooms are very new and clean. Bed is super comfortable. View is incredible. (Make sure to get the Double room with lake views and you will have a balcony which made our trip to Northern Italy extra memorable). The food is fantastic at the restaurant- great breakfast, and the dinner menu is wonderful. I highly recommend any pizza or any Calzone--they are huge - definitely good for at least two people each-and delicious! Make this stop and you will not regret a thing...it is glorious!
