This was a lovely, relaxing place to stay in my last couple of days in Cuba. Aurelia and Damelis were so helpful and caring throughout my stay, and booked me a taxi to Havana airport when needed. The hostel is a 20 min walk to the beautiful beaches of Varadero and there's nice dining options nearby. Really comfortable, clean rooms. Muchas gracias Aurelia y Damelis!

Wow! What a great spot to explore Varadero. Incredibly clean! Modern air conditioning and wifi! We absolutely loved our stay and will come back for sure. Be sure to have the delicious breakfast! 10/10!

Mimi’s Palace is a self-contained modern 2-bedroom ground floor apartment in Santa Marta – very handy for the airport at Varadero, if you have just arrived in Cuba or are leaving shortly, but Santa Marta itself is a lovely little town with some nice restaurants and bars, a great beach and a marina – well worth a longer visit if you would prefer to keep away from the big hotels out on the peninsula. The apartment is clean, comfortable, air-conditioned and well-equipped - microwave, kitchen equipment, good kettle, etc. The beds and the towels are huge. The owner, who is very friendly, lives upstairs, but the ground floor apartment has its own courtyard garden with a fountain, and we were visited there by the owner’s delightful little dog – a definite plus! Breakfast was really good.

Nice little spot for the money to start a Cuba trip out of Varadero airport. The two ladies you’ll deal with give you some local experience. The power is out a bunch for that’s the case for much of the town. So sometimes the hot water isn’t there (due to no power) Couple of little dogs too that are cute. The best thing I’d say is you can rent a bike for $5 to explore the Varadero peninsula. Fun for sure. On foot it’s a good 20 minute walk from the beach.

a very good airconditioned room with very helpfull staff. you can easily rent a bike here to go to the beach and advoid the busy center whilst saving on expensive taxis. the breakfast is also great

It is a gated property. I never felt unsafe but it truly is an oasis in this neighbourhood. I was not able to find an ATM with any cash in it in the town or in Varadero.Mimi's mother and the staff worked with me so that I could have a good breakfast and afford transport to the airport. My only complaint is that the air conditioning just blew hot air but the shower was plenty cold (no hot water). :-)

The property itself is very nice, spacious, clean and tidy. The ladies were also very friendly and helpful. The homemade breakfast was awesome and probably best so far we have had in Cuba. But the location is a bit far away from Veradero beach, though the bikes made it more accessible to us. What is also quite frustrating is the bathroom facilities. The water was so weak that it felt almost like dripping. No hot water either.

Very good . Recommended. A little bit of Walt from the beach . 20 min . She charges for internet 3 usd per day ( first time I see that !) . Apparently breakfast are amazing
