- Local hotel brand with solid kitchen. The original point for the Imlauer group. The Gasthaus StieglBräu, owned by the Stiegl brewery, opened its doors in 1912. In 1999, Georg and Ingrid Imlauer founded IMLAUER Hotel & Restaurant GmbH, which has been the tenant of the StieglBräu (now Hotel Bräu and Braurestaurant IMLAUER) ever since. - Nice breakfast buffet with abundant fruit, tasty local cheese and ham, homemade cakes, and some hot sausage/bacon/eggs. - Homemade Bundt is a little dry but tastes eggy. The other unnamed one has cherry jam and nuts. Food selection of cheese. The blue cheese is really flavorful. Others milky and nutty. 8-min Egg is probably cooked more than that but easy to peel

The staff, overall cleanliness and breakfast buffet were great, but we only stayed one night and I’m glad that was all. The A/C didn’t work at all, so even though it was cool outside, it was uncomfortably hot in the room. We opened the window to try to let in some air, but the hotel is on a busy street so it was either sleep hot or noisy. One other major issue, was the shower design. The shower head was positioned in the middle of the tub with a piece of glass covering only half the tub from the door side of the bathroom. The shower head also didn’t fit right, so it swung around loosely and not in any fixed position.. water got everywhere no matter what and we had to hold the head with one hand to actually rinse off, otherwise it just sprays the wall. Wouldn’t stay here again.

This hotel is very conveniently located near the Railway station and the main sightseeing area. What impressed me is the hotel staff, they were not just kind and caring but also very good with genuine support. When I had a problem with going to Vienna due to heavy rain, I shared my concern with the front desk staff (Johanne?), and he was very kindly sharing his advice. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Our visit to Salzburg was absolutely perfect!!! This hotel location was perfect. Close to old Town, close to the stop busses for tours, close to cafeterias and restaurants. Great property for visiting Salzburg. Convenient parking and walkable area with several great dining options around, including the on-site restaurant which serves an excellent breakfast. Rooms are a little small but set up well and the prices are reasonable. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Would recommend this property to others.
