I checked in at 5PM, the hottest time at DV, 119F, but what a nightmare to me is, a/c in my room not on and the balcony curtain to the west not fully close. It means the room is still too hot to sleep even at 1AM with noisy ac on. It really makes me disappointed. I think hotel staff could have done a better job.

With a limited number of options to stay in the park, it’s difficult to except the competition for quality that you have in neighbouring Las Vegas. The Ranch was as expected and did what it said on the tin. There were some drawbacks though; the shower lacked pressure and heat, the air conditioning was incredibly noisy and the buffet restaurant offered limited choice, especially for a vegetarian. The convenience store was well stocked, with several items feeling well-priced. The ice cream parlour was good - and definitely worth a visit. The lack of available drinking water to refill bottles was disappointing, especially considering the heat of Death Valley in August. All in all, it did what we needed but it was definitely no frills.

Great location for the drive out to sightseeing areas. Only issue with our room was a leaking toilet and the A/C sounded like a Jet Plane taking off everytime it switched on

Our reservation was incorrect. We were told we had make a mistake on our booking and they could do nothing about it which would leave a teen and a adult sharing a small sofa bed. When we were able to prove it was a system error they gave us an 'ugly' room (their description) which had an extremely unpleasant smell. The mattress on the sofa bed was stained and ripped. Had we had the original room we had booked (a casita) I am sure it would have been pleasant but the staff were outwardly rude and the ranch style rooms were extremely outdated. The pool area also had amazing potential but had not been cleaned and there were no towels. The restaurant areas were similarly uncared for and the staff equally unhelpful. Our experience here was in stark contrast to the excellent customer service we have experienced elsewhere in California.

Our group of 10 loved this property. The pictures are what the property actually looks like. They are not digitally enhanced. We upgraded and rented a total of three cottages. They did their best and had us all in the immediate same area. The cottages were so impressive, appear to be recently remodeled with all the fixtures and furnishings. The property, from what we understood had recently gone through a revitalization. It felt like a movie. It was 124 while we were there, any outside seating had misters and overhangs to assist with the dry heat. The restaurants, there are two, had great food options. The ice cream parlor was adorable. The only issue is ice cream closed at 8pm, the golf shop restaurant closed at 7pm. Now it is August and some of that could have to do with the lower amount of travelers due to the heat. The staff were beyond nice and conversational. Greating you even when passing as you were walking to the pool or the general store. We were told that the staff live on the property, because the closest modern conveniences were 1 hours away. That means a true gas station with snacks, a McDonald's..the resort and its sister property across the street is all that is out there. The 124 degree heat dictated us moving on to our next stop. However, everyone in our party agreed that if it had been 90 degress we could have stayed for multiple nights. Highly recommend!

Location and pool fantastic. Checking-in was a nightmare. arrived after check-in time, hours of queuing to be told rooms not ready, this was at 7pm. Not expected to be ready by 8pm. Told a part refund would be issued to all guests who suffered this delay. Noting as yet.
