Great for city breaks and solo trips
The hotel was beautiful, well cared for and has excellent facilities. The room was very small, and 2 people could not move at the same time. The beds were very comfortable, which part makes up for the noisy area, with nightclubs all around and could be heard all night. Other than the noise, the location camt be faulted. Incredible shower. The heated pool and sauna are an excellent addition, even if the layout in that are are messy and you have to go through the gym in your towel. The restaurant was fab, but we werent allowed to sit at the windows for drinks unless eating even though they were empty which was a disappointment so we left. Wouldnt hesitate to come back for a short city break or if solo, but longer or witg more than one would get frustrating quickly with the small space.

Staff were lovely and welcoming. However, I would not recommend this hotel if you are wanting a good night sleep. Noise from nightclubs was loud, rooms were tiny (could only open one suitcase at a time), no where to place items etc. Hotel ambience is beautiful, bars downstairs and up are lovely spots to hang out. I would recommend hotel to write at the beginning of their advertisement on booking websites about noise level (had to scroll all the way to the bottom and had already booked hotel and unable to cancel when saw about noise levels). Definitely a party spot not a place to relax and enjoy.

Was a very nice place to stay. Do be aware of the nightclub right beside it. Best to make sure your room is not beside it

The overnight noise from adjoining bar/club was unbearable. The Dean offered useless ear plugs. Completely unacceptable. Do not stay here. You will regret it regret it.

Part time staff
The staff were never to be found, it was like they were part time, if they felt like it. When they did turn up, they were rude.

Quaint, but small and loud
Great location; quaint. Rooms VERY small and noise from the nearby nightclubs excessively loud until 3 am. Needed to sleep with earplugs, but still didn’t block the noise.

Our room was above a nightclub. We were not warned. When we called to complain at 1:00 am, they suggested using the foam air plugs provided on the nightstand.

It’s impossible to sleep in this hotel: the annoying and loud music from the night club below the rooms is unbearable. It felt like torture. Couldn’t sleep at all. This hotel needs to invest in insulation. The room is tiny. Also, even if in theory the reception is 24/7, the maintenance team is not available until 7:30. We almost lost our flight because of an issue with the seif and the lack of any personnel that have the master key or can fix it. It’s not a 4 star hotel. The only nice part of it is the sauna and outdoor pool which are not exceptional, but decent.

I loved the decor of the entire hotel - absolutely stunning. All the staff were accommodating. The hotel is in a prime location in Dublin. Despite being on the same street as many of the night clubs, the guesthouse part of the hotel was extremely quiet! Would definitely stay again.

If you want to get any sleep, do not book the Dean. It’s a red flag when the clerk says it gets noisy and there are earplugs (which don’t work well) on the bedside table. The shower has a quarter wall and the bathroom floor basically has to be wiped down after every shower or there surely would have been a slip and fall accident. This was not an inexpensive hotel. Nice part of town but not many other redeeming qualities.

Cool but expensive and noisy
Nice room with all mods/cons but overlooking a nightclub. Had requested a quiet room before arrival to no avail. They even have earplugs in the room. They need to soundproof the rooms over the club, especially considering the high prices. Great location.

Charming
Lovely experience at the Dean. The room was comfortable, quiet, and well appointed. The neighborhood was cute and had lots of great restaurants and things to do and explore, including some lovely parks and lots of charming old buildings. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcomed! Also had a lovely dinner at the rooftop restaurant with amazing views of Dublin. Overall a great little stay and would stay there again with pleasure.
