Wonderful idyllic cottage
This was a wonderful cottage and a beautiful setting. It was extremely clean and well equipped. The owner was delightful and very helpful. It should be noted that there is no dryer or hot tub. But there was a rack to dry clothes on and they dried quickly. Also, you need to take your own bath soap. It was very up-to-date and the view from your window was gorgeous. Lambs scampering about and a beautiful view of the valley. We were extremely happy with our location.

In the country, but close to amenities
Very clean and tidy, only comment is we had a long 7 hour drive and there was no milk in fridge and no tea bags etc, didnt want heaps just a quick cuppa and it would have been nice to leave an odd bin bag, as we were there for 6 days, but apart from that a lovely
Comfy stay.

One of the best!
The accommodation is clean, quiet and has all you need. Everything worked, the hosts were great. They checked we were OK and then left us to ourselves.
It's a great area to explore as well.
We can definitely recommend a stay here.

5 of us stayed here Monday to Thursday, we were all very impressed with the cottage, and the views around it were spectacular. There was everything you could need for a stay here.
The fishing lake, just a few yards from the cottage was beautiful, even if you don't fish, was lovely to walk around. The town of Linlithgow was just a couple of miles away, with an historical palace to visit, good rail links to Edinburgh and Glasgow and good restaurants and shops.
I would highly recommend these cottages, they are a great find. Enjoy!!

Amazing location
The cottage was central for everywhere we wanted to go and was near to the train station for easy access into Edinburgh.
Having 3 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms is very unusual and it made life so much easier for everyone.

Great time
Enjoyed the country atmosphere. Walks around the lake. Conversation with locals, etc. Very relaxing after spending days sightseeing in the area.
Country isolation less than 1/2 hour from Edinburgh.
A week that had almost all we needed. 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms make it ideal for a larger family. Trout fishing within 50 feet of the cottage.
Only weakness was the beds are low (ikea type) and are well passed their comfort guarantee.

Absolutely beautiful
This cottage was a great surprise and absolutely beautiful. If you’re ready to disconnect from social media and take a break from our fast paced lives, this cottage is the answer. I rated communications with property manager less than 5 stars as we had difficulty reaching Jim and no information was provided ahead of time as to how to get there and the check in process. Since we were traveling via London from the US, this was unsettling. However once we made contact with him, they were extremely responsive to our needs and questions. A fantastic location and we would definitely return.

Wonderful location and fabulous cottage
We loved Carriber Cottage - spotlessly clean, spacious. well equipped, modern, comfortable and convenient. You can park right outside, walk to the fishing lake or drive to Linlithgow station to take the train quickly into Edinburgh. Three large bedrooms and three full bathrooms - and the Feb a hot tub you can use. If you're driving up to Scotland it's ideal as a beautiful base to stay and explore from. Jim greeeted us on arrival and was friendly and welcoming. What a great find.
Clean, comfy and lots of living space. Super kitchen and bathroom facilities and proximity to places of interest. The biggest attraction was the view from all aspects...so peaceful...and the walk around the fishing lake-fabulous!
Our dog loved it too and she's fussy!
We could have stayed forever!

Disappointing
Lovely !ocation, very c!ean, but property far too hot and took two days to cool down. Bed linen poor quality, rough and scratchy. One single mattress and bed frame very poor. 4 of our party left early, unable to sleep. Dining chairs need pads on feet to avoid loud scraping on tiled floor. Tourist information leaflets were mainly used, grubby and out of date. Door handles needed adjustment, difficult for both children and adults. Instruction manual for appliances would have been helpful. Unable to address issues with owners as they were On holiday.

Lovely quiet cottage in perfect location
Lovey cottage with all round views of the countryside.
Bedrooms and bathrooms large with plenty of storage. Kitchen / diner/ lounge all open plan - plenty of space.
Lots of hot water and a handy dishwasher too.
The only thing I would change is the mattress on the upstairs double bed… was a bit soft for our liking.
Hosts introduced himself on arrival but we didn’t see them as everything we needed was catered for.
Good value - very quiet, easy drive to surrounding areas.
Would stay again
