Short Break
We had a lovely stay at Abbey Strand Apartments. The apartment was very clean and was very well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. Although the apartment is quite small it was a perfect size for us as a couple. The only negative was that the information regarding check-in wasn’t very clear as to which doors we had to use. We ended up going round by the side of the building through a gate and we were stopped by a woman in a security uniform. She was very pleasant and helped us but this was not ideal and we had to help another party who were checking-in while we were there.

Quiet yet close
Great location, right at the end of the Royal Mile so you're close to everything but still in a quiet little spot. Beautiful garden and view of the crag overlooking the city. Very well appointed apartments, very clean. Overall our favourite place to stay while on our trip to the UK.

The apartment was beautiful!! Clean, decorated lovely and functional. The bathrobes provided were an extra nice. The location was just perfect. We went to breakfast about a quarter of a mile away. Quiet, tucked away by the Holyrood house gardens, it was the perfect place to stay.

Easy walk home down slope from city center. Perfect place for Uber drop off and pick up. Comfy bed, and seating. Kitchen had enough. Temp easy to regulate. Hop on off bus stop right out front along with city bus. Super safe for a single woman or lbgtq even at night. Nice views from apt. Lots to do w/I a one block radius. No lift may be an issue for some. But overall great location and stay!

Property itself excellent. Service communication needs work. Expedia didn’t send the confirmation email the day before as stated. This should have enclosed access codes to property. Advised to down load both Expedia and Cheval app - neither could provide missing information that was in absent email. Phone number in app and in property window went to voicemail. Helpful assistant on further telephone call guided us through access and forwarded email. Seamless service design is essential for good travel experience. Hope this can be improved for next customers as the property and location was excellent

Cheval exceeded our expectations! It was clean, quiet, large, comfortable, and recently renovated. There is a lot to do nearby and everything is walkable. However, it is at the end of the Royal Mile at the bottom of a gentle hill. The good thing is it provides a peaceful night's sleep. The not-so-good thing is that is at one end of the town so you have to walk towards the center of town to do everything.

Highly recommend this property. Has the best of both a hotel and a apartment (still had somewhere to store luggage when we check out, umbrellas, lobby to wait for taxis). Great staff (Peter), couldn't be more helpful!

Really lovely apartment with great views, in a beautifully-restored historic building. Also, convenient for sightseeing BUT (1) the only access to the apartments was by a narrow, spiral staircase. I understand that it's an old building so not possible to install an elevator, but there should be a very clear warning on the website that this accommodation is NOT disabled-friendly. (2) The apartment was cleaned only once in our 4 day stay. (3) There was never anyone at the Reception. Instead I had to contact another branch of Cheval Apartments in Edinburgh to get assistance.
