Great spot! Rustic on the outside but updated on the inside. Plenty of onsite options and right next to a grocery store with plenty of food options, clothing, hiking supplies, souvenirs, and all at normal pricing.
What a great motel for our visit to South Rim; you can walk to viewing areas, take the shuttle or even drive to some of the popular sites. We were here a short time and loved the Geology Museum - great history about the Canyon and it's formation from 1.8 billion years ago!
Check in staff were outstanding and I would definitely return.
It's a well maintained hotel with new fittings. Staff is very helpful And responsive. The breakfast staff led by Stephan is standing to attention all thru breakfast constantly replenishing food and cleaning.
The lady who was front desk was so wired. The other guy was explaining what time sun rise is and facilities. So she did not explain me the information so I ask what time the sunrise is. She said I don't know!! I say The front desk guy showed the other customer the time table so I check it by myself. She exactly know about that. And in the room hair dryer was broken and ask fix it or bring one but the lady ( I am not sure who she is because on the phone) she said nobody can not help Arizona is dry so you can dry out! and she said tomorrow morining at 7 we will bring it. But nobody comes!!! I do not want to stay again!!
Great it is in the park, wish there was a pool, not xterra, mule rides aren’t at this hotel; good buffet, great location in the park for sunrise/ sunset/night skies programs
The lodge is perfectly located to jump on the busses and visit all the different areas of the south rim. The food on site at the dining hall and the tavern were good enough, considering how convenient they were. Our bathroom wasn't very clean, but overall we had a comfy stay. The staff were very friendly and informative. I would recommend staying here.
