Not a 5-star I imagined
Previously I have been to a 5-Star Manor in Mpumalanga and amazing 4-Star hotels which I felt they standard was just 5-Star. However this time around my 5-Star expectation was not met at all. The rooms are nice and big - really that's about the good thing I can say. However for a 5-star and with the COVID-19 outbreak; I expected a bit of attention to hygiene however the cleanliness was not up to standard in my personal view. And the cleaners themselves were not in sync - you will ask for assistance on something they wont know; and tell you they will check or get someone to come assist -- and you will wait to no avail. Personally the restaurant was more 3-star than 5-star for me; it wasn't really bad but it was not really wow when it came to the food... So overall, for us there was not 'wow' factor that we sometimes get at 4-Stars and this was 5-Star!

DISGUSTING AND AWFUL!!!!
One of the worst experiences of our lives. The place is dirty, hair on the beds, disgusting towels and just plain dirty. When we arrived there was no pillow cases on the bed, our friends had hair in the shower in their room, the shower head was broken and you could see that the bedding was not changed from the previous guests. We were told that it would be fixed. We left for an event and returned around midnight. The rooms were still not clean, the beds and towels were disgusting but it was so late, there was no one in sight to assist. We will definitely not recommend this to anyone.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I I forgot my phone at checking out ,they called me and advised and they kept it for me , which was really nice and honest of them. In the rooms the walls are too thin , I could hear the people from next room , which was really unpleasant .

The hotel that spoilt Christmas
We were checked in by Jacksin , the gardener, who we met at the gat as he was about to take off on his bicycle.. The venue that we booked at , 193 Albert street is not the same venue as the one displayed on the website. Apparently the hotel consists of three properties.... we ended upp in the annex next to the servants quarters. There was no pool on site, The airconditioning as well as the Television in the room was not working. We were not able to make coffee as there was none available in the room. We tried to get some in the kitchen...... it was then that we decided that we were not going to stay in this place...... it was horribly dirty

Anniversary spoiled
I booked a room for our 20th wedding anniversary!! As per web, we were promised gowns and slipper in the room. So we didnt pack any. Guess what? NOTHING. Staff just said they don't know. There was no complimentary coffee in the room. As per staff there is nothing available? They promise 12 dstv channels. Only about 4 were available, but reception were so poor we could view only 2! Coffee cups in room were chipped. Bathroom wall was dirty. Room has no privacy as bed faces lapa area. We ordered dinner and were told there's no lamb chops as per menu. We were told we must come 7am for breakfast. Sunday 7:15am we walk into the kitchen, only to be told the cheff overslept? 8:15 we return and cheff says she was late because she was tired. Shame AND thats not all. Cheff fries me 2 eggs brought on a seperate plate. I took my plate with toast to her and ask her to use the spatula to scoop eggs onto toast (at that stage she was infront of the stove making scramble eggs). She lifted one of my eggs, put it in her hand and added it to the rest of the scramble eggs in a pan??? I laughed and told her no, i wanted it on my toast... Then came the funniest of all... She lifted that piece of egg from the scramble and placed it back onto my toast!!! I was dumbstruck. Speechless. I just took my plate sat down and ate. + points?.... Fillet steaks, chips and spinach-Loved it! Free fast Wi-fi Will i go again? A BIG NO!!! What a BIG dissapointment for our 20th wedding anniversary

Great staff and service. The locks were sticky though which was a pita. It was some trouble getting in and getting into my room. The property is gorgeous and the neighborhood is beautiful, but too quiet for my preference.
