Great Communication- but “Lipstick on a Pig” type of property
The owner, Ashley & property manager, Karen, were quick to respond, but the property itself was not that great. We stay in Kimberling City an avg of 5-6x's a summer, we decided to try this property because of the boat slip that was advertised with the property. Ashley did give us early access to the property, which we appreciated. The main level was okay (we rented the 2 bed/1 bath unit), newer floors + new kitchen & appliances. The basement however was not so great - strong moldy/musty smell (which we thought was due to all of the rain we had recently & we thought if we aired it out it would go away). After looking closer you could see evidence of past water damage along the baseboards & walls. The bedrooms & bath are in the basement. We also had a variety of bugs + spiders on the walls/corners of the basement/ceilings & beds. They gave us a can of spray to help mitigate the problem - but it didn’t help. A bug here or there is common-you’re in a wooded area + around water, the amount in this unit is ridiculous! The main floor living space was 89 degrees when we got off the lake on Saturday & the AC was not working, it was quickly recharged. Time to replace your 1980's condensing units! If you read reviews from 2011-2014 about this property not much has changed! Added some cheap paint + new flooring + new appliances but they didn’t properly redo the unit. Again, they are quick to respond, however it seems they are too cheap to fix things right the first time.
