Hotel gave us a great cost effective option for traveling to london with kids. It was listed as a 3.5 star but we gave it a chance because the price point for a two bedroom was the same as for a more luxurious 1 bedroom. It worked well for us but there were a number of things that make the 3 star rating valid. 1. We had one of the biggest rooms on the floor but it was still micro efficiency. 2. The heat was radiant thoughout the building and tough for them to regulate. It got really warm at night even with the windows open. 3. There were two main elevators with fairly small cars. One was broken the entire week of our stay with no signs that it was being worked on. Hotel is too big to only have one small car. We normally walked the 4 flights of stairs. 4. It was great to have a combo washer dryer, but the dryer really didnt work. Clothes still came out damp and needed to be hung up. 5. General maintenance like cracked tiles in the kitchen, water damage to the trim and wooden fixtures in the bathroom and some mildew on the ceiling above the shower.
The staff was friendly though, and the other residents were super quiet. Like. amazingly quiet for being in a hotel in the city and sleeping with the windows open. The location was ideal too. So many things nearby to see and just a short walk to the south kensington tube staition. Over all im happy that we stayed here but there is room for improvement.
