Was ready to give the hotel a zero after being given a room with faulty aircon. Phone wouldn't dial through to reception, housekeeping knocked on my door in the morning twice (before 11am I might add) and said nothing so difficult to understand what she wanted. It was a disaster really and ruined the first day of my trip. Was given a very rattly old tower fan which helped a little. Was upgraded to a suite the next day when aircon couldn't be fixed and the 2 staff members that helped me deserve all my gratitude. They really did want to help make my stay better so because of them I'm giving 3 stars. I ended up booking The Hoxton next door for my last night in London. Please sort out the poor communication skills! Housekeeping should not be knocking on my door that early when I have 2 nights booked. She wasn't aware I had a 2nd night booked but why was she at my door at 9.30 and 10.30 when check out is at 11am?! She was unpleasant too, saying something to me under her breath when I passed her in hallway. Wouldn't stay here again but I appreciate the kind staff that did everything to rectify the situation.

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were always helpful when we had questions of them. Our room did not cool well but they did provide us with a fan to get the air flowing. The area is very diverse, a bit worn, but great access to transportation and some nice pubs. I would stay here again.

Booked two rooms here and when we arrived the hotel room was so hot you couldn’t even breathe and the smell of cigarettes was unbearable and seeing as the hotel doesn’t have windows that open you just had to accept it. Because of this I was unable to sleep and had to cover my face to try to block out the smell. I requested to cancel my reservation but the hotel wouldn’t respond to calls or emails. When they finally did they said I booked with another avenue but I didn’t I booked directly through their website. I will be taking this up with my credit card company. I’ve never had this bad of an experience at a hotel.

Loved it!
We loved our stay. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We were disappointed to find the spa closed, but we're impressed by the attention to detail. When booking we mentioned this was a trip to celebrate our 10th Wedding anniversary and we were surprised in our room by a decorated bed, bottle of prosecco, chocolate brownie/fruit and prosecco popcorn! Really made our day to see! And we felt spoilt. The room was smaller than expected but clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a waterfall shower (which was just amazing!) they had provided toothbrushes, a razor, comb and the usual toiletries. The hotel is nicely Airconned (which with 33°c heat was super appreciated) and the breakfast was really varied and very yummy. With options for literally everyone. I really enjoyed the fruit bowls/pastries whilst my husband loved the English breakfast! My phone won't let me upload the photos, but be assured it was gorgeous!

Even though the staff did their best, it took us 4 different rooms to find one that has functioning air conditioning. Also on our last day of the stay, the room was very damp as you can feel it on the bedsheets. It was an ok stay and if we visit London again, I don't think think we would choose this hotel

Staff really friendly. Beds comfy and breakfast was very nice. Location was great for our trip to Television Centre and Westfield shopping. The only criticisms would be that the air conditioning was not very effective. Good value for money.
