The rooftop is absolutely amazing and beautiful and stunning with a rooftop pool and amazing bar with really good drinks, food and service. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. You see the whole city from the rooftop I clueing the acropolis. It really was great. The hotel is all about the rooftop. The rooms are quite simple and nothing fancy but clean and the bed is comfortable. Had what you need.

The pros: the rooftop pool - modern and luxurious, a great place to escape the heat. The staff were very helpful and organised a cake for my husbands birthday. The breakfast buffet is open 5.30am until 11am which is great whether you have an early ferry or need a lie in. Rooms are very clean. location was good about 20 mins walk to Plaka. The cons: the biggest one was the noise - the doors all slam and the corridor is loud, you can hear your neighbours and the rooms above, chairs scraping etc. The rooms aren’t ‘pretty’ and a bit on the small side especially the bathrooms. The pool gets super busy and people reserve seats with their towels from early morning and disappear, they could do with a staff member monitoring this and removing towels and stopping kids from playing games in the pool (it’s a small pool just for cooling off, not swimming especially when it’s busy). The cocktails were bad. (we tried espresso martinis on day 1, and margaritas and negroni on day 2) none were good so we switched to Prosecco. Staff did their best best but service was slow. Location - wouldn’t advise walking back alone at night get a taxi. Overall: Not a ‘destinstion’ hotel but for the price, worth it if you’re spending a night in Athens and need somewhere functional.

The property is located in an unsafe area. The staff were very professional and attentive. Rooms were clean but they are dated. The rooftop pool and restaurant is a great amenity. Food was really good and prices were not too high.

Stanley's Hotel was a good choice. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. Our balcony view was not so nice, but the rooftop view made up for it! We would highly recommend this hotel.

I had a less than pleasant stay. Upon check in the early hours of the morning due to flight delays, I walked into an open balcony door. I’m assuming it was due to the smell of sewage, which the room immediately smelled like upon walking in. Second night I woke up to bites all over my legs. Front desk staff said ‘this is not bed bugs’ and I perhaps got it before arriving to their hotel. That I went to sleep with absolutely no bites. Immediately, I packed my belongings and left the room. Front desk rectified the issue by providing a replacement room to rest. There are itchy red bumps all over both legs. Hotel appears to be way more ‘luxurious’ and ‘clean’ than it actually is.

**Hotel Stanley, Athens: A Disappointing Experience** The Stanley Hotel in Athens tries to market itself as a convenient, comfortable option for travellers, but it falls short on many fronts. **What Works:** - **Comfortable Bed:** The bed is one of the few highlights—clean and comfortable, offering a decent night’s sleep. - **Air Conditioning:** Thankfully, the aircon is reliable and keeps the room cool. **What Doesn't:** - **Breakfast:** An absolute letdown. The food is forgettable, and the coffee is dreadful. - **Atmosphere:** The hotel feels cold and impersonal, lacking any real character or warmth. - **Location:** While central, the area around the hotel is unsettling, with visible issues like drugs, brothels, and homelessness. - **Pool:** Although the rooftop pool has potential, it's often overcrowded, and service is painfully slow—you’ll likely have to chase down staff yourself. - **Rooms:** The rooms are tiny, with barely enough space to unpack. The decor is non-existent—just stark white walls, making the space feel barren and unwelcoming. Overall, the Stanley Hotel may cover the basics, but it misses the mark on almost everything else. A few days in zathens
The Stanley had an amazing rooftop pool which was a very welcome relief in the extreme heat. It also had a nice rooftop restaurant and bar too. The room was comfortable and the breakfast buffet was great There is an amazing bakery in the street l evel of the hotel. Hotel staff were responsive to our needs and were very helpful when we needed to change our reservation and stay an extra day. They accomodated our request immediately and we didn't even have to change rooms. I would recommend the Stanley.
