"I was nervous after reading reviews and hearing there are only two giraffe breakfast spots daily, but I was quickly reassured upon arrival. A kind staff member explained we could still privately feed the giraffes, from the same spot as breakfast, for much less cost and with the same 1:1 experience. The Tsavo restaurant had delicious food and fantastic service, especially from Ayu (worked Dec 13-14). She treated us like friends, making our stay extra special. The buffet breakfast featured adorable animal-themed foods. We stayed in a Twiga room with a breathtaking view—better than my trip to Africa! The bed was huge, with an extra one for our daughter, and tossing carrots to wildebeests from our balcony was a highlight. Some reviews mentioned bugs, but we saw just one fly and a harmless bug—less than in my house during Australian summers. I had low expectations for the park itself but was blown away. The kids’ splash park, with multiple slides and pools, was almost empty, and even adults enjoyed the slides. The animal experiences were incredible; we fed and patted elephants and meerkats, and the park was so quiet it felt exclusive. The Lion Restaurant was so good the lions roar a lot and watch you eat haha. All the staff were lovely, despite some reviews calling them rude—I only saw staff being kind unless provoked by rude guests. My skeptical husband was won over, and we can’t recommend Mara River highly enough. Thank you for unforgettable memories!"

"Kubu Sakian Villa is a dream place to stay. Nestled in rice paddy fields in the mountainous jungles of Sidemen, this place is elegant, gorgeous, and comfortable. Putu and the rest of the staff were friendly professionals. The villa I stayed in was modern, eco-friendly on the inside with a spacious bathroom and comfortable beds. The outside was a rustic, wooden build of fine craftsmanship. I could hear my neighbor upstairs at times, moving around on the floor above me. The green, lush vegetation on the grounds included tropical flowers in red, yellow, orange etc. Handsome stone statues of the Buddha or Hindu gods and altars compliment the natural beauty. Their pool is an inviting, blue gem that is always open. The food was pretty good including Balinese, Indonesian, and American dishes. Sometimes the staff were a little slow to clean up after another guest had eaten, but they always did a clean, thorough job. The scooters for rent were in great shape, easy to navigate, and the staff was more than willing to show you how to operate them. There is a white water rafting tour you can book through the villa and massages available. Putu and staff spoke great English, and they were willing to share information about Sidemen, Bali, and Hinduism in general. I highly recommended staying with these guys for your next Bali getaway. "This is THE BEST hotel I've ever stayed at. I've traveled the world and stayed at beautiful hotels - but this one takes the cake. If your a health minded individual - this place is for you. There's great wave out the front for surfers, daily yoga, a large gym with daily classes offered. Rooms are clean. Staff are incredible. Food is great. Can't wait to go back. "

"This place is excellent value for money. The rooms are very nice and very clean with amazing views of rice fields and Agung. It is out of the main tourist area and no close by dining options. You really need a scooter if you stay here which was easy to hire at the accommodation. The staff are very attentive and helpful and they have a reasonable food menu which they deliver to your balcony. A nice small pool but flooring around pool needs attention and maybe shade around the pool such as umbrellas for loungers would make it more appealing. Overall, a very relaxing stay in beautiful Sidemen. "
