La Quinta? More like La Quindon't.
This did not meet the standards I would expect when I hear "La Quinta". First: a pro: the desk staff was friendly and helpful. If I owned a hotel, I would want staff like this. Now the cons. 1. The closet smelled like cigarette smoke. More on cigarette smoke further on. 2. The smoke detector was hanging off the wall, and had no battery installed. 3. The switch for the bathtub was jammed into "shower" mode. 4. The air vent in the bathroom was filthy. 5. The air conditioner could not keep up with the heat. This is New Orleans. It's going to be hot. 6. On the second day of our stay, housekeeping came in while we were out. The room smelled even more strongly of cigarette smoke than the closet had initially. I reported this to the desk staff because I do not smoke, and did not want to pay a cleaning fee. 7. The carpets leading to the lobby were filthy. 8 There was general wear to the room, such as worn areas of the bathroom door. 9. Paint was peeling on the exterior of the hotel. We thought we were getting a deal, it turned out there was a reason for the low price.

The rooms were good but the elevator was broken. We took the outside stairs but the ac units leak outside real bad and the stairs are rotting….so be careful.

*Most repulsive hotel I've ever experienced *Upon check-in, we were told the pool was closed until further notice, the elevators were broken, and that our room was on the second floor (with outdoor staircases in 100⁰F heat) *Our room had no functioning lights except in the bathroom (which was filthy,) the tub was continuously pouring water, amd the linens on both beds were soiled. *We requested to change rooms, and the second room was even worse: mouse droppings and candy wrappers on one bed, old sheets and pocket change from previous guests in other bed, cigarette butts, dust and cobwebs everywhere, mold on the mirror, no towels except a dirty facecloth, etc... *We couldn't even check-out immediately because it was last minute during 4th of July weekend and everything was either fully booked or out of our budget. *The first night, I woke up at 4am with my eye swelling shut from a reaction to something on the "fresh pillowcases" they brought to the room. *I took plenty of photos because it was truly unbelievable.

The room was on the third floor and the elevator was not working. I walked into the room and turned right around, the room was filthy. The carpet in the stairwell was passed dirty. I left and will never return. This property should be shut down.

When we got to our room and turned on the light roaches shattered everywhere. I couldn’t stay here and I’m waiting in hotels to refund my money this has been the worst experience. I won’t use this service again.

Do Not stay at this mold infested, dog peep on the carpet, roach hotel. It's horrible worst experience in my 30 years. I ran a property so I know this place should really shut down. The state inspector must the owner to pass everything. It's inoperable!

Would be better as an "hourly" motel
I ended up leaving after walking up and down 3 times since room key didnt work. Was then put in another room but it wreaked of cigarettes. The carpets were dirty and no way were the bed covers clean because i saw bits of food on them. I decided to do a flashlight search to make sure i didnt see bedbugs. The perimeter around walls and beds looked unvaccumed for who knows how long. Legs from cockroaches were unwelcome but it is louisiana. But i was actually gonna try and stay until i opened the little table drawer between beds and there was some trash and several extinguished cigarettes. I went back downstairs and asked the polite front desk clerk if i could just leave and get credited. The carpets in hallways were shockingly disgusting and looked like they came from an oil rig. Absolute black and disgusting. Very bad "first impression" of Laquinta.

The first red flag was when I pulled in to a hotel that did not match the images on the listing. There was only one room matching our reservation and it was on the third floor with all elevators out of order. The television did not come on at all. There was no active wifi network. The bed sheets did not fit the mattresses. The tub was broken and dirty. The refrigerator had to be unplugged in order to use the microwave. The pool was out of order. The air conditioner was out of refrigerant. When confused about why my credit card was needed again for a deposit that I thought I already paid, the clerk spoke to me like a child and insisted that the previous charge was not for the room deposit but for holding the reservation. This hotel is thoroughly below the quality of a $100/night hotel but I was charged almost $150 before taxes and fees and received none of the amenities that I specifically chose this location for.

We got into the room and the smoke alarm was chirping we had to take it off the wall. The air conditioner was leaking and the carpet was all wet. The elevator was broke. No ice. The hotel was busy and I can say the front desk people were very nice and breakfast was good.
