This was definitely one of the worst places I have ever stayed at, especially for a Days Inn. It's the worst Days Inn I have seen or stayed at. I know Hayward doesn't have the best reputation, but it's also not the worst. I chose this place based on the other reviews and I was highly disappointed. Yes, it's a 2-star hotel, but it was actually one of the more expensive 2-stars in the area.
The best part of the place was the staff. The front desk lady was friendly. Otherwise, I would have given a 1-star review.
Other reviews said that the breakfast was a plus or the best part about the place. All they had was Nutrigrain bars and juice boxes. That's a joke.
The stairwell and walkways smelled pretty bad. Inside, the odor was more subtle, it was mostly covered by the air freshener. There were 3 holes in the walls in the room. The beds were well-worn and bouncy. There was a broken panel of some sort on the wall. The exterior walls were very dirty, interior walls were a little worn and slightly dirty.
Pro - the staff was nice at the front desk.
Cons - everything else. The beds, the breakfast, the smell, old paint, worn out facility. This place just looks and smells rundown. It needs A LOT of work. I did not see any of the other positives from the other reviews.
