Convenient for Gare de Lyon. Property has once been nice but is really now run down. Kind of place you wish you had flip flops on rather than bare feet in your room! Staff welcome is no frills. Sml amt of touting for business on street but unless you were clued up it wouldn’t be noticeable. My only stay in Paris where I told my daughter we wouldn’t be returning after dark!

We had a reservation for two rooms and the first room was wonderful, especially the balcony. The second room was clean and spacious but the air conditioner did not work at all which is unacceptable for a $250 a night in August hotel room. The staff provided a fan but that was insufficient. They claimed that no other room was available which if true was very disappointing.

Hôtel Viator is a gem
Hotel Viator is just a 4 min walk from Gare de Lyon and multiple metro and RER lines. That’s why we chose it. Turns out the rooms are also very nice, the service was friendly and the hotel is super cute.

We were impressed with the soundproofing of the room which could have been extremely noisy otherwise due to the location. It was worth paying extra for the larger room. Typically, rooms in Paris are very small, but this was quite comfortable. It had average furnishings, a decent bed and spacious bathroom. Gare de Lyon was quite close- a very short walk. Also, there was an exceptional Italian restaurant (Spiga) across street. A good experience for a five night stay.

A lovely classic inner city French hotel. Comfortable quiet clean, good buffet breakfast. Perfect for our overnight stay.

We stayed here for one night because it was so close to Gare de Lyon train station. It was very conveniently located. The staff were great and we had a great view from one end of the hotel!

Room booked was not room I got. Hotel amenities are not truthful. Supposed to be Soundproofed rooms but absolutely not soundproof at all. Property is very old and all floor boards creak. The property has 7 floors. Could here toilets flushing, water running, people walking, slamming doors. No manager. Reception very unhelpful aggressive and dismissive of concerns. Did not speak english or didn't want to and continually stating 'hotel full'. No tea or coffee, milk, dirty used cup. Bed was fine, room decor fine. Would not stay here again. Expedia not responding to complaint re: incorrect information or getting what you booked.
