So, this may seem unfair but I can't quite decide. I first stayed at the DoubleTree as a long term resident for 18 months. Back then, I would give them a 9/10 for everything. The reason why my scores have been so poor is because the hotel has not changed at all since 2017. There has been no renovation to any part of the hotel and the service quality has tanked. The room I stayed in was a suite, everything was the same but older. The room was not particularly clean, there was dirt in som areas like the tub, window sills and closets. When I asked them if they could set the sofabed for my son, all they did was drop a pile of linen on the sofa, everything else was DIY. We arrived late so I had to hold my sleeping son while my 6 months pregnant wife set up the bed for him. It is a stark contrast to go from exceptional to drab and disappointing in 7 years.

This hotel is in a great part of town. Lots of good restaurants and bars within walking distance, along with the sports venues. Nice place, very clean and great atmosphere.

The gentleman at the front desk was a pleasure checking us in and seemed to be very happy and positive. As far as valet goes we pull in along with two cars in front of us and the two cars in front all got luggage carriers brought to them and then we pull up and didnt get one. When we could see one in the corner we still had to go and get it. Then upon leaving i went to ask valet if I could get the keys to start bringing bags down just to start getting loaded up (2 rooms 4 adults worth of bags). The valet guy working tells me to just request my car and I said okay I will and did and even told Him I would be back in about 15-20 minutes but he just blew me off.. came downstairs 20 min later with the notification my car was pulled up ready to go and it was nowhere to be seen. Ask the same guy and he gives me attitude telling me I should request my car when coming down when not 20 min earlier his words were totally different and then he says as he walks away that I should have requested it within 5 minutes of leaving not 30… when it was 20 minutes and I told him my scenario. We come to pittsburgh a couple times a year for sporting events but for the way valet treated us I will not be back.

Staying here wasnt too bad. Only thing that really didn't work for us was the air conditioning and they brought us up a fan that was extremely loud and inconvenient but other than that, the hotel was pretty convenient and close to everything that we had going on and it is in a good part of the city.
