"I had a 2 night stay with a friend whilst attending a funeral locally. The room was clean and tidy and good sized. we had a meal in the restaurant with other fiends (8of us). Most of us had a good experience. But 3 had an issue with the steaks ordered. They found them to be a little tough to eat. The others all enjoyed what they had ordered. The stay was comfortable and the breakfast buffet had a good selection. There was ample parking,"

"Stayed here 4 or 5 times durig my daughters time at the Uni doing her Masters. This was for the Graduation. Rooms are very nice particularly liked this last one. Dont be put off because its slightly out of the city, the bus service is excellent with at least 3 different buses and both bus stops in/out are literally outside the hotel and it takes 5 to 7 minutes. A late taxi back was only £7.50. Hoping I get the excuse to stay here again. Staff couldnt be more helpful, I was genuinely sad to leave this time in case it is my last stay as my daughter will probably have a city based 2 bed apartment with parking. Finally parking, nice secure tree covered car park but its increased from £10 per day September 2023 to £15 per day January. Not a deal breaker but a longer stay and its probably going to cost the same as an extra night "

"We enjoyed our stay here. Historic old pub within easy walking distance of the city centre. Spacious room and bathroom. Comfy bed. Clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Great value for money. Would definitely stay again when in the area."

"Great customer service especially from the lady checking me in and the lady serving at the bar/restaurant. Both were very friendly, professional and helpful. The check was fast and the service at the bar/restaurant was excellent. The food was really nice as well. The room was large and comfortable but just a little bit noisy. I had a fantastic view of the racecourse. The hotel is in a great condition with a good car park and great location."

"Lovely spa, good gym with lots of equipment. The girls in the spa were excellent! Massages were fabulous. Food in The Fat Abbot was really great."
