Tired property with cleanliness issues
The bathroom smelled musty. Specifically like old and heavily used neoprene wetsuits. I found approximately 30 hairs that did not belong to me on the bathroom floor. When I went to use a tissue to collect them and throw them away, the tissue was filled with other filth and dust. The hallways were dated and dingy. From the photos, I thought this was a newer hotel, but it is not. Room finishings and carpet were tired. The uncleanliness of the bathroom mixed with the tiredness of the furnishings and hallways made me feel that everything was unclean. Bed was comfortable and buffet breakfast was good. Staff was nice. Unfortunately the uncleanliness of the bathroom could not be redeemed by any other hotel feature.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room was lovely and big. Comfy beds, hot shower, heaps of towels, coffee pod machine. Pool was great, spa was lovely. Laundry handy. Good little gift shop. Didn’t eat at Rydges as too expensive - $65pp. Hard to find somewhere reasonable to eat in Rotorua, everything overpriced and very touristy.
