"We picked this property because it is at the base of the ski area and we were not disappointed. What we were surprised by was the amusement park theme with a carousel, village mock ups, and animatron figures singing! It was a real experience! Multiple dining choices, great gym, and beautiful views. Great place to stay if skiing Rusutsu!"

"So good, we cancelled a smaller trip up north and extended our stay a couple of days in a different room. Staff is helpful, plenty of dining options, and of course the onsen is awesome. Just be wary of high prices in and around the resort- this is definitely not a budget stay."

"An amazing experience in a traditional Japanese inn! The room was expansive and spacious, and definitely try the onsen, even if it seems intimidating to try as a foreigner. I experienced it in the winter after hiking snow trails, so it really soothes the body! The surrounding resort is beautiful and easy to walk to many hotspots in the area. The non-reservation restaurant on B1F is nice, but their menu is limited in the evening, so plan ahead if you are looking for nighttime dining. "

"We really enjoyed our 4 day stay at Torifito. We had a double bunk bed room and there was enough space for our snowboard bags and luggage, plus the ski locker room to store our gear. Would recommend the breakfast buffet! Great value and delicious choices for everyone before hitting the ski hill! The onsen was lovely and relaxing and everything felt clean and tidy. We didn’t stay in the pod area but it seemed quiet and tidy when we passed by. Parking right out front and a big grocery store next door. "
