Stayed here for one night before our cruise. The checkin desk was overwhelmed and it took a long time to get our room but the manager was accommodating and offered us a free breakfast which was great value. Location, location, location! We were able to walk across to the cruise ship terminal.

I wish I could say good things about this hotel, but our experience was disappointing from start to finish. Check-in was supposed to be at 3 PM. We arrived at 4 PM, but our room wasn’t ready until nearly 5:30 PM. With a wedding to attend, I requested a refund so we could stay with a friend and make it on time. Instead, the receptionist mentioned she'd try to get us a room. After a while she came back with what felt like an attempt to guilt us into declining the room and just "waiting like everyone else." My response to this move was something like "It's either that or a refund", which made her finally ungraciously give in and accept our request for the next room. A bit after that we got our room, but the delays were frustrating. My family had similar late check-in issues earlier this year, and a staff member admitted that some guests hadn’t received their rooms until 9 PM the night before. That night, our sleep was interrupted by a flashing alarm light and then fully woken at 8:30 AM when the alarm system went off. No apologies or compensation were offered during checkout. To top it off, valet delays meant we waited over an hour for our car, although the valet staff were at least communicative and professional. While individual staff members were doing their best, it’s obvious management issues are at play, creating a disorganized and unsatisfactory guest experience. I hope this review encourages improvements, as this was far from the standard of service we expected.

We were checked in to a room with a lovely bay view. It was over 80 degrees inside, and A/C not working - that was after waiting 4 hrs. for rooms to be ready. No early check-in available. Many thanks to MIGUEL (bellman) for his assistance in getting us another room.

The rooms are nice. The staff have two types: kind or rude. No in between. The rude folks really ruin the experience. There is also some kind of strange cast system in the restaurant. I am a brown skinned African American woman and my friend is a lighter complected. We were asked for our room number at the restaurant so I responded that we didn't want to charge dinner to our room in case that was the reason. The host responded stearnly"it's not for that, calm down GIRL". I was offended and shocked but we were seated. We then sat for almost 40 minutes and watched as other guests (non black,) were seated and given water and some had even received food. Noone greeted us until my friend flagged down the rude host and told her in Spanish that it was ridiculous how we were not being served. The next table over, 3 other black women were later seated. They experienced the same treatment. One of the young ladies looked like she was starting to get upset as she looked around wondering if the server would ever come. No waters, no service until my friend and I had almost finished our meal. They later claimed that there was a misunderstanding and we were served. It was awful to be sitting there and being ignored after being spoken to like I am a child. Unbelievable and disappointing experience that overshadowed how lovely the hotel itself was.
