Despite my selection of the hotel based upon outward appearance, location, and other amenities, it seemed I was misled by the photos of the exterior. I thought it was a Victorian looking structure, but it only had a bit of white fence work, and otherwise was a stark, cement clad barracks structure around an unopened pool. It’s main purpose was as a wedding venue which I didn’t expect would be overwhelming. The available dining area was also overshadowed by the wedding facilities, and I would not have enjoyed that location.
I really don’t know how this visual misalignment happened. It seemed to have been renovated recently, and possibly older pictures were replaced just as I was making the reservation. Or there was some mis filing of pictures by the Hotels App.
The renovations were satisfactory, mainly paint, but the areas around our outdoor room entrance was a mess. The room was okay, in a marginal attempt at picture decor & fixtures. It was no way close to the high rating that the hotel received of 9.8
In addition, the room was not prepared with a working refrigerator, cups for drinks other than coffee, the ice machine was up on the 3rd floor, we were on the ground floor. There were no supplies like shampoo.
