The pool was nice and the steam room was refreshing. However, the sauna did not work and the restaurant was not open and that was not mentioned when we called them. Also, they are undergoing construction in the lobby and that was not mentioned either. They should be upfront about the condition that their hotel is in when people book a room.

We will miss The Castillo Real we remember.
Hotel has been “under construction” for longer than I-75. Jack hammers on Saturday morning… Our balcony had 4 visible wasps nest that we asked to be removed shortly after checking in… I bet a week stay at a different hotel they are still there. AC struggled to keep up, I am an HVAC professional, something was off. The elevator was miserable, the bldg. is only 4 stories. Our 4th and probably last stay. Good luck Hilton.

Not as advertised and beware of parking
I understand the hotel is under a remodel. I can overlook not having somewhere to hang a wash rag in the shower or the paint on the door jam not being done correctly. What I can’t overlook are the dips in the floor of our room that almost tripped my husband. What I can’t overlook is the elevator feeling like the Tower of Terror when my husband, 6 year old and myself get in with an overnight bag a piece. What I can’t overlook is having the trailer hitch being stolen off of my truck while parked in the handicapped spot right by the front door under the security camera and no one seeing a thing or being basically brushed off by the hotel staff (Ben, Rhonda and the hotel manager).

The hotel was under minor repairs, but it didn’t really interfere with my stay. The front desk employees were very nice, and they even let us check in a little early. There are places to eat and shop in walking distance to the hotel. It wasn’t crowded during my stay, and I never heard other guests when I was in my room. The section of the beach near the hotel didn’t get crowded during the week I was there. Some of the outlets didn’t work in the bathroom, and the shower’s water pressure wasn’t great. Still, I’d stay there again. I’m sure the minor issues will be handled once the repairs are all finished.

The property was under renovation at the time of my stay. The front desk did upgrade my room when I called to check if the hotel was opened due to a hurricane Debby. The room was clean and a good size. The view of the ocean and pool was very nice.

Very friendly staff, great location. Restaurant was never open which was a bummer. The WiFi was down for 3 of 4 days we were there. Main floor was being painted while we were there which will be good for future people staying here. The painting was a an inconvenience for us since we were dodging wet walls and painters to get to and from the pool. We had to have room service change the sheets because they were stained after just being cleaned, the blankets had rips in them. The water pressure in the showers was terrible, could barely rinse shampoo out. Pool area was nice and quiet. Location was amazing. Very short walk to the beach and other food/shops. Overall a nice place but our timing made for an unpleasant experience with no wifi, no water pressure, no restaurant and the building being under renovation. We were not warned of these things or we would’ve chosen a different location.

We needed a hotel for just 2 nights. The hotel was very transparent about their renovations, but we were never affected. It was quiet, clean, very convenient, and the staff were great!

When booked we were not aware they were under construction. Several lights in our room did not work, the vent on the wall was tore off the wall. The beach was being dredged so our view was the dredging equipment. We did enjoy the beautiful pool area & made the best of a less than ideal situation. :)

Suites are one large studio room with bathrooms. The only difference is an outside balcony. I wouldn’t call this a suite. The hotel and nearby beach are under construction parking is $10 daily and we ended up request a day bed

We know the property is under renovation, but we had to request housekeeping twice to service our room. Complained to front desk regarding a nightstand drawer that kept opening - no service regarding this - a real safety problem, a "GREAT" law suit item if not repaired ASAP (used a pizza box to jam the drawer shut), open outlet box covers missing (a no/no in NYS), large portion of soffit missing above the pool door (great pigeon nesting area show daily). Shower was large but shower head only "sprinkled" water 18" from the wall, a larger human would have to kiss the wall to get wet! Will have to say the front desk manager, Ben was great!

A place to stay.
Service was great. Super friendly and helpful. The room was very large and very cold. Small things could be improved upon. The sink wouldn’t drain properly. The toilet paper holder kept falling off the wall. The sheets had some spots on them. The shower only had a curtain which didn’t keep the water inside the shower which I felt could have been a safety issue. When we went to the pool there was only one towel left. Parking was a little difficult but the concierge was very helpful about it. Overall it worked out fine. Definitely not the cozy feeling some hotels give but it was a place to stay and overall clean.
