What a lovely place! The view was spectacular and having a nice balcony area to enjoy the sunset with some wine and cheese was the perfect end to the day. Checkin was a breeze - the key is left for you in the office with directions to your room - and the layout of our two-story space was perfect for our situation. I would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.

We booked into this property, sight unseen. We had booked in for just one night, but as soon as we arrived and saw our room (cabin) we immediately booked for another night, and wished we could have stayed for longer. Grafton Cottages & Chalets is an absolute hidden paradise gem. We felt we were in a faraway Pacific Island paradise, but high on a hill over Thames NZ. Alby checked us in, and was happy to have a chat about his premises, all those little amazing features, and worth every single word. You definitely require a car to get to the property, but you wouldn't stay anywhere else in Thames once you saw it. Warning, not a place for anyone with a mobility issue, walking around the cabins isn't all that easy, but once you get there - - - WOW !!

We loved our stay at Grafton cottage! It was an amazing spot up on the hill looking out over Thames. The owners were lovely and the whole thing was great. We will be back!

I arrived at 3pm . Ally showed me to my room and showed me the pool and spa. Winter here so the pool not in action but the spa was lovely and hot and bubbly. Lovely being outside in the evening. Room was great comfy bed, heat pump, a little stove to heat my soup and smart TV I woke to a veiw of the Firth of Thames. Although the exterior looked a little rough I had a very relaxing stay which is what I needed.

The unit was lovely and clean, and there were some nice extras. The manager that saw me into the property was super nice. The unit was looking tired and needs some work to bring ut up to a really good standard again. same with some of the exterior, although I onluy saw this in wet, stormy weather. I would most certainly stay there again despite these things, and it that is because of the possitives I have already mentioned.

FANTASTIC CHALETS HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Grafton Cottage was so fantastic we changed our stay from 1 night to 3 nights after the first night. Albie (owner) is very personable and accommodating - just basically lovely. The chalet we had our first night was a cute bedsit and had a good view out over the bay. Full cooking facilities, lots of hot water and a spa & pool right by the door. After the first night we loved it so much we asked Albie if we could stay another 2 nights and he had a 2 story chalet free for us which he only charged the bedsit price. The view was even better. We spent 2 days sipping beer in the spa and reading as rain rolled over the bay - snug and warm and comfortable. We were on a bicycling trip and were able to securely store our bikes in the garage onsite and Albie ran us into town one night (rainy and cold) to go to dinner free of charge. We will definately stay there again and would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere in the Thames area.
