I am scheduled for back surgery in 2 weeks. Upon arriving, I was informed that the elevator was out, and that my room was on the top floor. My explanation of needing a lower floor because of my back was met with "That's all we have at the moment." I was not offered any assistance with my bags up the stairs. I was not offered an apology for the elevator being out. Horrible customer service.

I have been a loyal Marriott, JW Marriott and Courtyard by Marriott customer for over 30 years! BEWARE of the Topeka Courtyard by Marriott! A makeup bag with over $500 in product was stolen by housekeeping and all I got was an “I’m sorry” from management.

An beautiful escape from reality
This is my third time staying at this hotel and I love it more and more everyday. I have actually been looking into moving down to Topeka because the city is so quiet and lovely and the locals are very friendly! Not to mention the amazing food and cost of the room a definite 10/10 stay!

I believe we may have got a wheelchair accessible room, but not sure. It was just awful. Tub was stained, felt like it went downhill and was going to collapse at any moment. This made it sketchy to get out. There was only one small chair for two people. No couch or 2nd chair. Sink area was incredibly small, nowhere to put anything. Smoke detectors or something right above the bed with lights shining on you at night. Sliding glass door impossible to open and close which led to a sorry looking outdoor courtyard. Patios with breaking concrete, sorry looking grass. The bed was comfortable and ac worked great. This property spent a lot of money on common area where no one cares and left rooms, or at least this one, with much to be desired. I did inquire about a different room, but they said none were available. Inquired if booked again could we request room with couch and told no guarantee, it’s all based on reservations at the time of checkin. Will not return.
