A unique stay at a unique historic property. We had a one night stay and enjoyed the property and the staff. The hotel is slightly dated but full of character. The staff was outstanding and friendly Enjoyed an afternoon at Cielos the on site restaurant with drinks and lunch on the patio. If passing thru Tucson again, Lodge on the Desert will be our stay.

I stayed here two separate times, in two different rooms. The first room I’d rate 4 stars, the second room 2 stars. The first time I came, I thought it was quaint and charming, it didn’t look like a generic hotel, had a fireplace and southwest furniture. The room had a bit of a smell, but it didn’t bother me too much. But the second room smelled musty and I had an allergic reaction to the mold- all night with a headache and irritated eyes. ( the mold is in the a/c, which is extremely common in hotels- they don’t have their a/c serviced and cleaned as needed). Also, the window ( actually a sliding glass door) opened right up to the parking lot and street. I wanted to keep it open until I went to bed to let fresh air in, but it was noisy and not private. It also had the fireplace plastered over and had a chintzy couch in it. I’m supposed to stay at this hotel again next week and I'm scared I’ll have more problems with my mold allergy.

Hotel close to everything we were doing. Concerts and museum and the top of MT Lemmon My only concern was it was VERY difficult getting my wheelchair bound wife thru the heavy , heavy door. There should be some way to block that big door open

Comfortable. Quiet and unique rooms. The only disturbing incident i encountered was from another guest and his camera. I was walking back to my room, he took a couple of photos. The property is nice otherwise.

Tucson is absolutely lovely and The Lodge on the Desert was perfect! We arrived after a long day on the road and the accommodations were so relaxing! There’s an on site restaurant which we grabbed a beautiful dinner at and then we headed to the pool and hot tub! So relaxing. I’m a plant mama and all the plants around the resort are absolutely stunning. We got the rest we needed in the big comfy bed too. This will definitely be our choice for accommodation's when we are back in Tucson!

The room was outstanding. We loved the older model and furniture in the room. The Jacuzzi tub in the room worked perfect. The pool and got tub was great. Awesome Gem in the middle of the city!!

We have stayed at this hotel before and were pleased with it. This time ,however, was different. The management has changed and they no longer offer a free breakfast although i could have sworn that they had free breakfast listed when i booked it on Expedia. Could have been my error. At any rate ....no free breakfast anymore. When we entered our room we couldn't open the patio door to the balcony...the lock wasn't working. Then we found a ring of dirt in the toilet. Tried calling the front desk on the room phone to get a new room but no answer. Tried again on our cell phone ....still no answer. So no breakfast , less than stellar room and no service. Used to love this place but wont stay here anymore.
