While this property has a certain charm to it from the outside, don't let this fool you. This place has decayed in the last few years since our last stay. We had stayed here twice before and decided to come back. Big mistake! Some parts/areas look like they could use some painting.
To start off, there was no hot water. When I complained to the front staff they promised they would turn the "boilers" on. Apparently this either took way to long to heat the water or was never done, since all three of us traveling had to take cold showers.
Second, the shower ceiling was falling apart and filled with mildew. I stayed in room 212. The A/C unit also struggled to cool the room off, even at the lowest setting available.
Third, the bed sheets and towels were hard and coarse. The bed sheets were also so thin and worn out that you could see the mattress right through them. The room also had a musty smell of old.
On a positive note, they do have solar panels and the restaurant had Ok food (not great, just Ok). By 7 PM, they had none of the dishes featuring chicken. The portions were of a decent size and they were flavorful.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. There are other hotels next to the Cathedral/central square which are 10 times better and cost only about $10 more per night. Skip this place and for about $10 more, indulge in a much better place around the Cathedral.
