The best place to stay
What an amazing place. We loved every minute of our stay here. From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. They gave us a map of the town and marked places to visit and recommended places to eat. The room was amazing. It had a large living area with a fridge and kettle. Our bedroom was upstairs and was huge. It’s in the best location so close to everything. Highly recommend and wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Wonderful find while planning a Chichen Itza visit
What a special place to stay!!! It felt like home with the staff being so helpful in checking us in, offering anything we needed and giving wonderful suggestions for the area. We stayed in the fabulous Don Louis room which was very large and comfortable. Each morning we got a new delight for breakfast with a local specialty. Valladolid was our stay when planning our visit to Chichen Itza but the stay was so much more wonderful than we expected. The town square on Sunday evenings is a must!!!. Casa Marlene was so convenient to everything.

This is a quaint renovated colonial house. The reception room is the old living room filled with families snapshots from the 1950;s and earlier. The room, though not luxurious at all and a bit naive in its “hotel decour” has an early twentieth century look to it. Everything looks basic but authentic. What really makes you fall in love with the hotel (more like a bed and breakfast) is the BREAKFAST. The setting, the service and the yucatecan food makes it all worthwhile. Stay here and feel the real Mexico.

An Oasis in Valladolid
Great hotel and very lovely people. Breakfast in the beautiful inner garden was excellent, and the staff was excellent, friendly, and accommodating. Our room was clean and comfortable. Sunday night in the Plaza was great fun. We visited Casa de Los Venados, a must-see in Valladolid.

Perfect boutique
Very quaint house. Service is very friendly and personalized. A pure boutique hotel feeling. The breakfast was superb. The duplex suite we had with the jacuzzi was really nice. A perfect stay for a typical Mexican experience !

wow what a place
this Casa was amazing, not much to look at from the road BUT, inside is an oasis. lots of foliage , a grand entrance hall and lounge area.. the room was large, with a marble jacuzzi too , just a few steps from the pool.the breakfast was varied with a chef's local choice to try, fantastic, and as many coursed as you liked. the waiter was very attentive, knowledgeable ,happy and was a delight.in fact all the staff were brilliant. we met the owner of this small 6(?) bedroom place and we could tell we were having a great time. wish we had stayed longer. a note for the lady receptionist upon arrival who was a very efficient, pleasant and enthusiastic about our stay.

Oasis in the heat
We stayed in Valladolid for a couple of nights to allow an early morning visit to Chichen Itza. The temperature was in the mid-thirties so pretty warm for us cold blooded Brits! After a great morning wandering around Chichen Itza it was lovely to come back to the middle of the city and have the beautiful garden and cool pool at Casa Marlene. The breakfast was great cooked freshly each morning and the staff were really helpful.

Lovely gem
This place is a gem. I wanted an authentic Mexican experience and am fortunate to have stayed here. Walking distance to the square. Ample parking behind Burger King. The owner greeted us for breakfast and even helped carry luggage to our car. This is a very special place.

Small, friendly hotel near center of town
My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Casa Marlene. The location just a block away from Valladolid's central plaza is very convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and dining. Rooms open onto a lovely courtyard garden. The entire staff of the hotel provided warm and gracious service. The breakfast served every morning, and included with our room rate, was amazing, from the Mexican coffee prepared in a ceramic urn to the salad of tropical fruit, followed by a plate of Yucatecan specialities, and ending in dessert! We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great Hotel and Staff!
First off, the staff here is fantastic. Everyone was welcoming and attentive and they made us feel very comfortable after a long flight and drive. While our room wasn't luxurious, it had just about everything we could want including air conditioning, television, a fridge with complementary drinks, and a coffee maker. The garden and pool area are very nice and well taken care of. I think our favorite part about our stay at Casa Marlene was the breakfast, and I highly recommend it. The mayan coffee in particular was excellent. The location is great also, right near the main square. All around it was lovely, and I would gladly stay here again.

A lovely stay
The room was spacious, both in square feet and cubic volume.. the ceilings being at least 18 feet high. You are simply in another time in this hacienda architecture. Other than the festival, the juxtaposition between the very busy city street the hotel is on and the remarkable serenity of the garden and rooms immediately upon entering the door of the place was astounding. Being near the town square was wonderful and the restaurants within a few minutes of walking were incredible. The proximity to the various Mayan cites was a huge draw too… and just being in a real Mexican town / city as opposed to being in some hotel in which you're surrounded by other gringos was a huge plus. The people who run the place are unfailingly kind, considerate and personable. The only downside was that there apparently wasn't enough hot water as we ended up with very short, very luke warm showers.

Quaint little Hotel in the heart of Valladolid
This was a pleasant surprise. Quaint little Casa off the beaten path. Walking distance to the City Square and good resturants. We only stayed here 1 day but could easily spent more time. Free wireless, small clean little pool and walking distance ( 2 blocks ) to Cenote Zaci (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g150805-d153659-Reviews-Cenote_Zaci-Yucatan_Peninsula.html) of all the Cenotes this was my kids favorite

Casa Marlene and Valladolid
Valladolid is a wonderful place to visit, hotel staff was most friendly and helpful, breakfast was fantastic, grounds of the hotel are beautiful and relaxing, very quiet despite proximity to what look like major roads on google maps. Rooms are large and comfortable. We spent three nights at Casa Marlene and would have liked to stay longer. Definitely would recommend the town and hotel to friends, and would stay there again.

A MUST to get a lovely taste of the Yucatan!
We were greeted with the kindest attendant, Solomon, who went out of his way to make us a snack on the house when we asked if there was any snacks to buy late in the evening. He even surprised us with a freshly fallen mango from the hotel's tree cut up and served at the poolside. The breakfast service is to die for, with amazing Maya coffee and egg-based entrée made with local ingredients served in the most beautiful courtyard, not to mention that the owners were there to welcome us with a good morning and offer preparing us second portions.

Excellent!
The really enjoyed staying at this hotel. And we felt very welcomed from the beginning because the staff is extraordinary friendly and attentive. The garden contains a wonderful swimming pool and trees of mango and papaya. You won't hear anything from the outside, though the hotel is located at the main road of Valladolid. We can highly recommend the tasty and authentic breakfast, especially the Yucateco coffee and the homemade specialties. We even got two fresh mangos from the garden as we checked out. So one of the best places we've ever visited to spend our nights.
