"Really lovely cottage which was exactly what we were looking for. It was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The cottage is within striking distance of both York and Harrogate which gave us enjoyable days out. The staff at the local Oak Tree Inn pub were very welcoming and the food and atmosphere were second to none. The only negatives about our stay was the remoteness of the cottage and total lack of any shop (apart from a butchers) in the village. The cottage is on the main road and the traffic through the village was a tad noisy at night, especially given the warm nights requiring the windows being open. For these two reasons we have deducted a star for location and area."
