This hotel is in a university area...rooms across street from check in...receptionist was lovely...but we would not stay here again...room vvv basic and you would need a car to stay here...too basic.

Pleasant hotel in good waterfront location, decent bar, nice breakfast. Staff and service were nice but unreliable. When we checked in, the receptionist told us we had paid (by credit card), and then after we had left, they threatened to call the police saying we had not paid. Then when we phoned up to pay, a few days later, they could not find our booking, so the saga continues... Don't you realise that not everyone has the time to spend on the phone and mindless webchats trying to sort out your mistakes?

Great service and food but no gym
Service is really good and the restaurant is great. On the minus side, I almost had to cancel the trip and they would not make any effort on the cancellation policy although I could have become a regular customer. That said the experience once there was really good, so I still would recommend it. The lack of gym is a shame. In summer you can run along the river so I'll probably ise it more seasonally.

Seminaris Avendi Hotel Potsdam was a very nice experience. Clean, efficient, and great location. Very competent, and helpful staff. Only minuses: Check in is late at 3pm. Dinner at the restaurant is not really a highlight. Can only recommend the mixed salad, which was very good.

View of the lake was super. Hotel carpets and furniture are a bit tired. Staff was friendly and helpful. Balcony was very disappointing- no seats outside and a long corridor area. Not my idea of a balcony. Breakfast was good.

The hotel was advertised as a 4 star. No fan was available, no access to balcony yet other guests used it, breakfast was self serve, and overall attitude was it is what it is. No offer to make stay better.

Wonderful
What a fabulous hotel and well worth the upgrade to a lake view! Breakfast was wonderful with a large selection of both hot and cold food. The location was fabulous a super it was across the road from the train station (half an hour on a direct train to Berlin) and a short walk from the tram to take you direct to Potsdam and Sanssouci gardens (which are fabulous). It has a supermarket across the road and an ice cream shop and bakery just down the road.

Peaceful place to renew; request riverfront
Sitting on the terrace for dinner and for breakfast was a highlight of the stay. The convenience of the train station was much appreciated (though the noise at night made it challenging to sleep). Loved the availability of kayak rentals and the waterfront location.
