Great stay, lots of amenities on site, private beach, big pool, restaurant was really good & accommodated dietary restrictions, room was lovely. Went for a walk outside of the hotel and it was safe and fairly quiet - just not a whole lot to do around there.

Be prepared to be completly transported to another world. What a beautiful place. The staff are so amazing. I felt totally relaxed after about 10 minutes. Has shops inside the hotel which really saved us a lot of trouble.

I was a little concerned when I read mixed reviews of this property; however I’m so glad I stayed here. If you’re looking for a “true” high end resort, this may not be for you. There are a few areas that are a little tired and could use an upgrade, but the reason I’m happy I stayed here is because I managed my expectations for a property based on location, and didn’t compare it to North American standards. The welcoming staff more than compensated for not having a high thread count on the sheets, but keep in mind you’re also NOT paying $500/night for a room, or $25 for a glass of wine. I felt the pricing for this property is completely fair and inline for what was provided. The accommodations were highlighted by the staff that truly wanted to “accommodate”. Everyone asked if I was enjoying my visit and to let them know if I needed anything. They bent a little when I was a little past the time on happy hour. They warmly put their hand on their chest and did a slight bow when I walked by, and greeted me with a smile. The employees all took pride in their jobs and you could tell they were happy to be there; I can’t say that about a lot of places I’ve stayed where I have spent a lot more money. In summary, if you want a perfectly pristine resort, this may not be it; however if you want to leave a place with a smile on your face and in your heart, Mövenpick will absolutely do this for you, I feel very sure.

What set this hotel so highly rated is their staff, such kind people and genuinely generous. The beach is okay and the hotel is nice, its in lapu-lapu 35 minutes from the main city, 5-6 hours from oslob whale sharks and 3-6 hours from moalboal depending on traffic, its not bad walking because its all flat and scenic. All in all i enjoyed my stay and would recommend just keep in mind the distance

Movënpick is a solid 8/10. The best thing about it is the staff. They’re extremely friendly and always greeted us with a smile. The pool area is pretty nice too. The beach isn’t very clean and the hotel has a cement pier right next to it, which isn’t pretty to look at. There’s also a lot of trash that you can see from our hotel room on the hotel site next to it. Finally, be warned that the shops in the hotel don’t take credit cards.
