Quiet and safe Uptown house steps from Audubon Zoo and shopping on Magazine

This house is located in a very quiet and safe historic neighborhood right near Audubon Park. It's also one of the most gorgeous residential neighborhoods in the city. It's perfect for families or small groups looking to relax and explore the city. The house is not baby proofed, but children and well behaved adult pets are welcome.

The location of the house is unmatched! Everything you need is within a few blocks.
It's easy walking distance to window shopping on Magazine St, James Beard award winning restaurants, several comfy neighborhood bars, the award winning Audubon Zoo, Audubon Golf Course, Audubon Park, coffee shops, a yoga and pilates studio, a spa, Wholefoods, Walgreens, ice cream shops, and an upscale wine store.

It's a 10 minute drive to the French Quarter, Mid City, Lower Garden District, and Central Business neighborhoods. Or just walk a few blocks up to St. Charles Ave and catch the streetcar towards downtown.

There are new countertops and appliances in the kitchen, a private washer and dryer, and central AC/heat. There is a TV in the living room and master bedroom, both with Netflix. 2 off street parking spaces are available for small vehicles. A big vehicle will take up both spaces, but there is usually plenty of street parking available as well. The lush front yard is securely fenced in and set far back from the street.

This is *not* the place for your bachelor party or a place to get rowdy. Please only book if you know how to respect a house and neighbors as if they were your own.

Other things to note:
-Quiet hours after 11pm - The owner lives on the property in the rear apartment.
-Parties and events are strictly prohibited(And also illegal at rentals in Orleans Parish).
-No smoking(anything) inside. Feel free to smoke on the front porch, but please dispose of cigarette butts properly.
-For security of the property and my guest's safety, there is an external camera overlooking the front yard and driveway.
-I don't bother my guests. Your privacy is important to me. Although I'm happy to chat or give suggestions. If you need anything at all, I'm always happy to help.

Amazing property!
My husband and I are not city people, but we both really wanted to visit New Orleans. It was important to me that I find a safe, comfortable place to stay outside of the French Quarter. That is exactly what I found with Joey's place. Joey was wonderful from the time we booked through check out, he reached out many times, and was extremely helpful. I even reached out about some questions and suggestions a few weeks before arriving and he spent most of a Saturday afternoon chatting with me, relieving all of my worries! Upon arrival my husband and I were amazed, the place is huge! You can bring your entire extended family and have more than enough space! We brought our dog with his and he loved having the front yard to explore, and there was plenty of room inside for him to play safely as well. The neighborhood is very safe, we took walks everyday. It is about a 10 minute walk to Audobon Park, and there is a delicious Po Boy shop about two blocks away on Magazine Street. We were able to easily walk up to St. Charles Ave and catch the Street Car into the city. We had an amazing trip and would definitely stay here again!

My daughter’s wedding
I rented this property for 4 adults and 2 children. We were in town for my daughter’s wedding so we were in & out for the week. This property was ideal for us & our schedule. The floor plan was perfect for two families. The fenced yard was a popular spot for all The neighbors were friendly & the neighborhood beautiful. The location was convenient & the parking spaces were greatly appreciated. The host was quick to respond to our needs. Highly recommend!💜

Our family was in town for college graduation, and we had 6 people ranging from 16 to 55. Was completely comfortable with that many. Love the location - so close to walk to many shops and restaurants. The offstreet parking is a bonus. Joe was very responsive with questions. Would definitely stay here again.

The property was just right for five adults. Comfortable beds. Very clean. Met all our basic needs. I would definitely stay there again. Much better than renting hotel rooms for all of us. Located half a block from a great part of Magazine Street. Highly recommend this property.

Terrific location, lots of room, very quiet
Our family of five (Mom, Dad, kid-6, kid-9, and Grandma) stayed here for a week over Spring Break. The place is super quiet and in a great neighborhood. There is a Whole Foods a block away and tons of shops within walking distance. The place is a bit spartan, but was clean. It could use a visit from a handyman - jiggly toilets, handles, sticky doors, etc. - but it was ok and a good value. We enjoyed our stay and would rent again. One thing I would recommend. The window coverings don't provide that much privacy at night - especially in the back primary bedroom bathroom. I’d be more comfortable renting again if these were more substantial.

Family spring break trip
The location is excellent!! Right around the corner from Magazine street with lots of fun shops. Walgreens and Whole Foods are just around the corner which was very convenient. We walked to Audubon Park and took the street car. The walk back from the street car is a little long but lots of NOLA architecture to look at along the way. There was plenty of space for our family of 6 to be comfortable. I would stay again.

Great Magazine Location.
We had 2 families of 4 stay at this property. We had everything we needed. Everyone had their own space. We could easily walk to many of the shops on magazine street. The host was very attentive. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, house needs a lot of work
This place was dirty and run down compared to the photos. Dirty old rugs, rusty and dirty air vents with holes in the bathroom ceiling and holes in the flooring along baseboards and closets. Ants, crickets, and baby cockroaches scattered in kitchen and bathrooms. After some serious work, this spot could be great as the location is fabulous!

Perfect Location
I loved this property. It was cozy and perfect for my family. The location was really great . We could walk to so many great places. Parking spot available which made it easy for us. Right by restaurants, shopping, and food store. Joey was great and was quick to help. He was easy to reach and very very nice. Loved this place and would book it again.

Nawlins getaway
This is a great old home, located perfectly only a short (really short) walk from Magazine St., Whole Foods, a donut shop and a coffeehouse, what more do you need? It’s also very close to Audubon Park, and about 15 minutes from the Audubon aquarium and the French Quarter. The house is layed out very well with an efficient kitchen and comfortable living room, we enjoyed the scrabble board coffee table! There are definitely some old house issues like sticky doors and plumbing idiosyncrasies but all in all a great place, we’d book it again!

Perfect spot for a perfect weekend
Joey's house is in a great location and large enough for our family of 6 (3 generations) to all stay comfortably. The yard gave us outdoor space to enjoy the beautiful weather as well. It was a perfect weekend!

A great place to call home for a lovely weekend
5 of us came from 4 different states to enjoy good food, great music and friendship. There was plenty of room and the beds are comfortable. The location is in a lovely neighborhood. It's a bit further than we thought from the trolley, but only because 2 of us have some knee and hip issues. Off street parking is great! Joey is very helpful and quick to reply to messages. We had no problems and had a great time letting the good times roll!

Quiet Home in Beautiful Area
First off, I want to thank Joey for opening his home to our family during our trip over Labor Day. The house was clean and quiet with elderly neighbors and two (2) parking spots NOT on the road. It was within a 7 minute walk to a Whole Foods, with coffee options and a bar within 3 minutes. The home is over where the older Tulane college kids frequent / live. (Think grad school, not frat bros) Perfect area for a getaway. We had six people in their comfortably with lots of storage room. We were there touring lots of museums and other historical areas, so a quick 15-20 minute Uber from the property towards downtown was simple and easy. (Rough cost per trip for 6 people = $ 20) Joey provided us with anything we needed and was super helpful the whole time. Please note, the house does have two living areas,but we saw the folks in the back maybe 3-4 times over 6 days and they were great! (They have their own entrance onto the property, and their own door into their back half of property.

Great stay!
I stayed at this property with a few friends and it was great! The neighborhood is excellent with lots of restaurants, shops, grocery store, coffee, etc. in walking distance. Communication with the owner was excellent and check-in/check-out was easy! All other New Orleans sites we wanted to see were a short Uber ride away. I definitely recommend staying here!
