"I loved being right outside Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. It was the most convenient place for my needs, the breakfast options are as terrific as the staff. Every staff member I came across was friendly and welcoming. It was important to me to have a dog friendly spot, and they are. There's even a lovely cat on the premises, his name is Peppermint, and if you're an animal person, I hope you get to meet him. "

"It's a rare treat to be on acres of land and open space such that surrounds this home. More than anything, the house has a peaceful, welcoming feel. Not too fancy schmancy, but not run down. It was very clean, which is often a wild card with short rentals. I enjoyed the unimpeded views of the Sangre de Cristos as well as the range on the other side of the valley. Crestone has not one but two grocery stores, and a hardware store! I guess my only warning is: Bring your own honey. Of the spices and staples the hosts provide at this house, I did not find sugar or honey. "

"The Rustic Rook Resort is a fabulous new addition to the Yurt/Bin wave of alternative to hotel stays. It is just a few miles from the Great Sand Dunes National Park that is simply awe inspiring and has fabulous sledding on the Dunes for the entire family. Excellent dining is about 20 minutes away in downtown Alamosa. The stars at night are incredible. We stayed in a Bin, which was less rustic than the name would imply. It was perfect for my husband and I, and our dog. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again."

"Beautiful new A-frame house full of amenities. Great for a large family or 3-4 single adults. Fully stocked kitchen, lots of games and activities. We enjoyed the starry dark sky from the hot tub that was ready to go after simply removing the cover! As the property manager said, "Just bring food, everything else is provided". Enjoyed watching rabbits and deer from the large picture windows. We enjoyed the drives to the Great Sand Dunes (about an hour) and the Sand Dune Recreation area. Very enjoyable stay!"
