"Wonderful Japanese hotel with onsen, only 2 minutes from Nara JR station and 20 minutes walk to Nara Park. Great extras like clothes to wander around the hotel in and free ice creams. Didn't get to try the free ramen at night. Derfinitely recommend. Only comment is that it was hard to find the hotel as the hotel name is only in Japanese! So directions could have been clearer (google maps took me to the next street) or maybe Expedia could have a photograph of the external view on their site (which is very attractive)."

"We loved the location and walking distance to Nara Park and temples. The staff was amazing and very intelligent! Some of them spoke many different languages. They had many fun things to do and everything we needed as far as amenities. Starbucks right across the pond and shopping centers as well."

"This is a landmark historic hotel, dripping with stories of famous guests. It is grand, warm, welcoming, quiet, comfortable and convenient to Nara Park, Kintetsu Station and many temples. I stayed in the new side which feels very 1990s American hotel style. Roomy for Japan and with a nice balcony. The bar, tea room, sakura lounge and dining room were all comfortable and classy. This is a wonderful place to stay."
