The experience was good overall. The location is very good, easy access walking everywhere. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Be aware that there is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow & very steep. The hotel room floor had not been vacuumed. The beds were comfortable. There is no air conditioning, which would have been fine, but we were there during a heat wave. The two nights we slept there were unbearably hot. They gave us fans, but it was genuinely miserable. The hotel does have a very cool vibe and the decor is fun.

The backstage theme is super cool and unique. Location is very convenient. Staff is very personable and friendly. Keep in mind that stairs are steep and narrow and can be a challenge to carry luggage for some.

Little gem of a hotel.
Greta location, a very warm welcome on arrival. Reception was very helpful. The room was good enough for our needs. Yes the stairs are steep and a bit of effort if you are in the top floor like we was, but it’s only what is to be expected for an old building. We will be back again.

Shared communal bathroom??? Nowhere did it say I would have to share bathroom and shower facilities with complete strangers. We had to pay for breakfast we didn’t even eat.

Loved this hotel, sort of like a Hard Rock on a budget! Quirky, rock n roll boutique style to the place with musical instruments and memorabilia decorating the reception area and hallways. Super friendly staff, nice relaxed vibe. The decor continues in the rooms with drums used for lampshades and wardrobes made to look like flight cases. Clean, quiet (even on a busy street) and comfortable. There were a couple of minor maintenance defects in our room- bulbs out over bed and bathroom mirror, bathroom extractor didn't seem to work and the battery to our safe was dead so unusable (we did report this a couple of times and were told it would be fixed but wasn't during our stay) Also, this room was fine for a weekend but we'd have struggled with 2 people for longer as there was very little clothes storage. Location is great, far enough from Centraal to be out of the nightime chaos but close enough to walk if you wanted or there's a tram stop few hundred meters away. We would DEFINITELY return.

Great budget hotel in Amsterdam… super cute and extremely friendly staff that didn’t hesitate to let us know where to eat/sightsee/etc. Close to major sites. It was a loud at night, but that didn’t bother us as we’ve lived in big cities before. Stairs sucked after a long day of walking (we were on the top floor) but hey, it helped burn off all the wine I drank!

The property is conveniently located, close to museums. In reviews it was praised for cleanliness, which is not true. It is dilapidated and dirty. Also, the bathrooms and showers are shared - tourists have to be informed about that.

While the hotel was lovely, the noise level at night was unbearable. There were people just outside until 5 am making it impossible to sleep. Given that we had flown in that day, it was not good. One other side note. Our breakfast staff member thought it might be fun to engage us in a debate about the war in Israel. We were polite but it was totally inappropriate. We didn’t appreciate being lectured to in quite that manner.
