Our room us always cleaned very well daily and we love the housekeeping staff. The ground was fairly clean but the resort is dated. We went to another spa elsewhere because we werent told by the frontdesk there was one at the resort. It wasnt a terrible stay but it wasnt amazing. Our bed was super comfortable so that helped. Maybe we'll stay there again when it's renovated.

The check-in process was smooth the young lady at the front desk was pleasant and friendly. We were waiting for more than twenty minutes for the bellman to take us to our room, he apologized when he came and I appreciated that. The fridge was dirty you could see where bottles were previously in the fridge and it had crumbs. All of the AC vents were filthy the master AC leaked a lot water unto the floor. The hot water handle did not work inside of the master bath room, we had to share one shower. The two bathrooms only had a total of four bath towels and one wash cloth. The furniture in the living room is old and dirty. The ottoman was broken you can see the legs laying underneath and the couch with the sleeper when you sat on it you sank into a hole. We had to walk Sunday night back to our room because the front desk was closed and there is no night Auditor on Sundays. The security officer was rude his attitude was not welcoming. We asked him to take us to our room and he said that the security car had no gas and he can not drive the golf cart so we have to walk. The lady at the front desk during our check out seemed unbothered by our complaints she was not even looking at us while we were speaking to her she was too busy with the papers in her hand we had inquire if she was even listening. First and last stay at this hotel. Overall rating one star.

My room was very nice BUT I requested a top floor on booking, and got a 1st floor instead. My biggest disappointment!! Putting on the television was very confusing. I was only able to look at tv twice, during my week stay...good job I'm not fussy over tv but it was the only thing to do. The staff were very nice. I will stay at the property again but only if my request for a top floor is honored.

Disappointed Stay Despite a Beautiful Location

I was really looking forward to my 10-days stay at Port de Plaisant Hotel because of its beautiful location. However, my experience was disappointing from the start. When I arrived, there was garbage in front of the door to my room, which left a bad first impression. To make matters worse, there were big bugs plague in the room, and no one came to help even after we reported it. We had to go to the supermarket ourselves to buy bug spray and continued buying it throughout our stay just to manage the issue. The service also left a lot to be desired, especially from the ladies working at the reception. There was no follow-up when we called for maintenance or requested services like bedroom cleaning or specific towels. It often felt like they forgot about us, and it was frustrating to have to constantly remind them to address issues. The TVs in both of our rooms didn’t work for six days, despite multiple requests for assistance. This lack of responsiveness and follow-up made the stay uncomfortable, especially considering the price we paid. On the positive side, the bellmen and other gentlemen and security worki at the hotel were very polite and helpful, which was a small comfort amidst the overall poor service. While the hotel itself is beautiful and the area is lovely, the lack of proper customer service and the numerous unresolved issues made the stay disappointing. I don’t think I’ll be staying here again.

Room sizes are very big. The extraction in the bathroom is very noisy, makes it very unpleasant to use. Rooms were cleaned but clearly needs some updates/upgrades.
