We booked last minute and it was super easy. Checked in after hours, they sent us a text with instructions which was great. Overall very clean and convenient. Only downsides were walls were very thin, so could hear people in the next room, it is on a busy road, and it is very dated (shower curtain, brown/yellow towels) and no extra pillows. Overall great cheap stay but don’t expect a 5star experience.

The Abbey Motel far exceeded my expectations. It seems more of a quality hotel than a motel. Lovely, friendly staff. Welcoming interior, coffee machine in the lobby (although it was out of order during our stay ... just my luck). The beautifully decorated room was spacious with quality bedlinen and an amazing mattress. It had a big screen tv, Foxtel, and everything we needed ie plates, cultery etc. We had an upper floor room with balcony that looked across at historic buildings and the church as well as a view out to farmland and glimpses of the city. We were blown away by the overall quality of the motel and highly recommend it to all. There seems to be no lift to the upper floor and while stairs are not a problem for us, it may be a problem for anyone wanting an upper room. It was a pleasure to stay at The Abbey and I look forward to staying again.

Fantastic hotel in great location
Stayed 1 night in an Executive King room. Quick, friendly check in. Really well appointed, good size room and bathroom. Nice balcony facing the cathedral. And one of the comfiest beds we’ve slept in! Great location, couple of minutes walk to the center of Goulburn, Woolworths nearby and Roses cafe opposite (great breakfast). Will definitely stay again when we’re next in Goulburn.
