"Great pub food, really friendly staff and clean rooms. Couldn’t recommend Penny Hedge enough. Breakfast was good value for money too. Right beside Whitby Gin if you want to go in for a tour. Walk down into Whitby was easy enough but uphill on the way back! "

"Fantastic hotel in Malton, the food capital of Yorkshire. We loved our room, which was kindly upgraded. The room was huge and comfortable with great views of the gardens. Bathroom was also spacious with a roll top bath and separate shower, a great place to unwind and relax. We also had breakfast at the property which was good, although slightly on the pricey end. The location is excellent, and you can walk into the centre in 5 minutes. Overall, highly recommended and we will be back! "

"Great location on the edge of the town to walk the dogs to the beach and beyond. Breakfast nice, but pricey. Loved the dog showers/towels made available for when you get back from a muddy/sandy walk. Also, the free coffee and cake which was welcome after a long walk. Hotel was really warm, so had the window open most of the night which then subjects you to some road/seagull noise."
