The imperial
My stay was excellent. Staff was friendly kind and very informative. They had cooking equipment to rent out for free. An awesome swimming pool on the top floor sauna workout room. In about a 2 and a 1/2, or 5 minute walk if that to the beach. A lot of restaurants and shopping businesses in walking distance. Most of all very secure and safe.

The hotel was fairly close to the beach so it was easy walking distance, plus there were many shopping and dining options reasonably close to the hotel.

Great location. Easy walk to many restaurants, shops and the beach for Friday night fireworks. We were in the Hala apartment which looked somewhat renovated than previous photos/videos showed. We ate out most times and just had breakfast in so were not in need of many kitchen utensils. One thing lacking though was a kettle and a supply of tea/coffee. Need to self purchase and use supplied saucepan. Beds and bathrooms good- hot showers, good water pressure and one of the 2 bathrooms had a bath as well. Dennys restaurant downstairs handy less expensive dining option with 55 menu we took advantage of. Pool on top floor and spas on 2nd floor looked inviting though we didn't get a chance to use them in our busy schedule. Washing facilities were great- washing machines and driers look quite new and clean- many available to use. Check in staff very helpful and we were able to check in early around noon.

It was very good, but our bathtub didn't drain any of the water after a shower, we hit our toes on the murphy bed several times so we put pillows on the floor to avoid injury and the pull out sofa was not usable as a bed at all!

Overnight Stay
We only stayed overnight so not much to say. There were 4 of us - myself, my husband and our 2 boys (12 and 9yrs old). We walked in the room thinking it was pretty good size. Then we couldnt find the bed. The bed was tucked on the wall, so its a pull down bed right by the entry. The sofa that was right beside it, was a sofa bed so the beds were side by side. Had to move the dining table and dining chairs around to give some space to move around. Very tight after the beds were pulled down. Bathroom was tight even for 1person. Bathroom sink had no space for much. Bathroom mirror was a medicine cabinet where you could store your toothbrush and maybe some hair supplies/facial items. Bathroom door had black spots from the inside. Front desk called about 20-30mins upon check in, to ask if we had any questions or if we needed anything, which was nice. We asked for extra pillows for our boys. My husband and I setup the sofa bed, beddings were in the cabinets. The sofa bed had sand on it when pulled it open. Had to clean it up and tap sand off the bed with towels from the bathroom. It was nice that there were cups, plates, utensils etc in the kitchen. Loved that there was a mini kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, a small fridge and small dining area (although after beds were opened up, space became even tighter). Okay for an overnight trip. Might not be too good for a longer trip as we would usually buy stuff to bring home.

Strange bed situation where it was in a closet and you had to fold it down..this was obviously designed is to increase initial space..this didnt make sense since there was a mamouth balcony. Also we both woke up with sinus so something in our room was dusty. Shower was very difficult to operate. Bathroom shower taps need replacing. The staff were very nice and friendly. Ok for 1 night before cruise.

The resort is older but with complete amenities and very central location. Our unit had good layout and excellent water view. Only one negative note - the sofa set had musty smell - i.e. wet coverings that did not dry properly. So, maybe upgrade to newer non- cloth material sofa set. Overall, it's a good resort place. Won't mind staying there again.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at The Imperial. Itā€™s walking distance from the shopping and restaurant area in Waikiki, and a short walk to the beaches. Very convenient walking everywhere. My only complaint is that the AC didnā€™t work as well as we liked, but it was a nice resort to stay at. Staff were very friendly.
