Room was so small, that couldn't put my languages
In,the elevators so small, so many people line-up to
Go upstairs, that was nightmare I shouldn't piad
For those two nights, I want to file complaint
Could you help ?
Hotel well situated in Chung King Mansions with lots of cheap restaurants downstairs. Hotel very clean with tv, microwave, attached shower. Only problem is that room is small, but it is Hong Kong and the price is smaller also, to match the small room. Hard to beat if you're on a budget!
The room was small but was clean and comfortable. They clean the room and change the towels everyday. I appreciate the free coffee and hot water. But it would have been a lot better if there is a free drinking water for the clients too.
The only negative experience we had was upon arrival, our flight was delayed and we estimated our arrival time at the hotel at around 1230AM to 1AM. We called the hotel to inform them of this. We were told that if we will be arriving by 1230 it will be fine but if we will be arriving at 1AM then we will be charged a certain amount (of which we have already forgotten at this point). We were booked from July4-8, we were estimating to arrive between 12MN-1AM on July5th. I asked the receptionist why we will be charged since we technically have paid from July4 and we will be checking in at July5. And on the confirmation letter it just says to contact the hotel if arrival is after midnight, which we did. He just said it’s for a charge. We arrived by 1230 in the hotel so we were not charged anything.
Our flight back home is 11:00am. We left the guest house at around 7:00am. There is no one seated in the reception so I decided to leave the keycard (your access in to enter your room and the other automated doors) on the reception table. We never knew that we forgot some things inside our room. So we went back and call the telephone number of the guesthouse but they dropped our call. I rang the bell and someone answered and I told him our concern but he shouted. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. At the end, my wife and I decided to leave the place for us not to missed our flight.
For Tom's guest house, everything was great with reasonable price. Good location near MTR station and popular tourist attractions. The staffs are nice and helpful.
I can only comment on the single room which I rented for one night in February 2019. It was about 6 square metres, including the minuscule bathroom, in which the shower was directly above the toilet. The room was not even a centimetre wider than the bed. There was neither a chair nor a desk. The lift from the ground floor to the 16th floor was functioning, but at times I had to wait in a queue for a few minutes to use it. In general, I fear that the building would be a death trap in the event of a fire or other disaster. On the basis of my limited personal experience (which perhaps differs significantly from the experiences of other people, I cannot recommend Tom's Guesthouse. Possibly if one needs a very basic place to sleep for a night it can be given consideration, but please do not expect comfort, safety, or any other positive attributes. Please keep a very close eye on your belongings everywhere in that Chung King Mansions (!) building! How on earth some other people gave Tom's positive reviews is difficult to understand (assuming they are genuine and not shill reviews).
The biggest issue was that the bathroom smelled really bad. It was coming from the drain, maybe pour some bleach every once in awhile would help. Did not bother to say anything because if we got moved maybe it would smell even worse and we did only stay one night. Otherwise it was fine.
The guesthouse is located at a very great location as TST is considered one of the central shopping area in HK, also it is just few mins walk from the MTR station.
The room is generally clean but I did had a few bug bites and saw cockroaches wondering around during my stay. There are a few WiFi available at the place, speed are quite fast most of the time. Also the rooms feels secure as they are locked via the usual hotel styled magnetic / keycard locks.
Would definitely come back again as I doubt I would be able to find anything half as good at this price range.
This place is located at the 16th floor of chunking mansion. You can either use the block B or C elevators. My family went there early. Around 1030am and victor gladly welcomed us with bananas upon waiting for our room. They checked us in even though its not yet time for no charge. The place is clean and also their room. A bit small but can fit us all four. Water is good and even the ac is cold. You can also use the pantries appliances. Bonus thing for this hostel is that they have a water filter for use to drink. We save a lot on water. They also have free coffee and tea. The location is perfect. Across the building is the the TST MTR. If you are coming from the airport using the a21 bus. You can go down at middle road and its just 10 steps away from it and if going back to the airport, just cross the road and behind the MTR station is the a21 bus stop. Food down stairs are also good if you like indian foods. Chinese food across the building. 400m is the avenue of the stars. Perfect spot! A day before the checkout you can request a lte checkout but there’s a 150hkd fee. Anytime you can checkout within the day. Less hassle if you have a late flight so you can still roam around. They also have a weighing scale so you can double check your luggages. The owner george helped us out on the checkout. Also with their thank you bananas.
