Whether you’re needing a weeklong stay for your intensive class at Liberty University, a weekend away from the noise or to rekindle the romance or a 48 hour retreat complete with on-site life coaching, the Sanctuary can accommodate your needs.
A 500 sq. foot Sanctuary suite with private entrance gives you room to spread out, breathe and take in the beauty of the countryside yet is close enough to town for amenities and a short commute to Lynchburg, the urban hub of the region.
Enjoy sunsets over the Peaks of Otter, walks around the 2 acre pond or sitting in the gazebo sipping a cup of coffee or your favorite wine. It features a full eat- in kitchen with butcher block counter top, stove, antique farmhouse sink, Keurig coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator. Central air provides for your comfort in winter or summer. A beautifully tiled shower, bedroom with queen bed and closet and living room with sofa and comfy chair give you all you need to get away for a bit. A gazebo with stunning views give you outdoor dining options as well a chance to breathe in nature and exhale out stress.

A five minute drive to the town of Bedford provides dining options, shopping for the antique lover and the D-Day Memorial for history buffs and veterans.

Need to get away from the “noise” of your everyday life? Sanctuary provides the space and serenity to think, dream, pray and……listen. Sleep in late, take a stroll around the property, sip wine by the fire pit and listen to the tree frogs. Even if want to stay in your pajama’s your entire stay, we’ve got books, board games and solitude for you.

Optional: Each day, the hosts can provide you with an inspiring note and question that sets the table for you to maximize your thinking and expand your mind to possibilities. ($10 extra a day for notes and questions)

Your host at the Sanctuary is a certified Leadership & Life Purpose Coach and is ready to meet you. Providing a safe, non-judgmental environment you can engage with Christine to help you think through and process a variety of issues including your calling, life goals, leadership, connecting or re-connecting with God or work issues while taking a brisk walk around the farm or just sitting in the gazebo looking at the ripples on the pond or the majesty of the mountains. This experience includes two nights lodging, two coaching sessions and contemplative questions so you leave with clarity or a plan to thrive in life. ($200 extra for a two night stay, although many guests choose to have their second coaching session after they return home and have time to do some "homework" based on things discussed.)

A perfect getaway!
The property was just as described. The views were breathtaking. The hosts were accessible and so friendly. The location was perfect for accessing the parkway. The only thing I would change was the length of the stay…. it ended too soon!! I will definitely be looking to rebook a stay.

Cute little place!
My boyfriend and I met up with a friend in the area and needed a place to crash overnight. Definitely nice coming to a cute little farmhouse after a long day of driving. Very cozy and well kept. If we're ever in the area we'd like to book again!

Serenity says it all
If you are looking to quiet your mind, body, & soul, this is the right place. I came for a four day stay in desperate need of mental and physical rest. I found rest, healing, peace, and a sense of safety within my life because I had let the chaos of life take control for so long until I was a shell of myself. I would recommend a retreat here regularly as self-care for oneself, or as a couple, to nurture what’s important in life. Accommodations are perfect, cleanliness impeccable, furniture feels like it hugs you (the kind you sink into). Bedding is luxurious. Only clock is in kitchen which is great - I ended up removing my watch and put away my phone - really unplugged! Grounds, gardens and views are gorgeous. You’ll get out of this experience what you’re willing to relax into and surrender. Definitely will return.

We selected this VRBO for the location to the wedding venue in Bedord VI. We were delighted in the location. It was a pleasant, peaceful stay. The accommodations were perfect and location. Nice location to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The view of Peaks of the Otter was beautiful. The owners are friendly and attentive to any needs you might have. The Sanctuary was well appointed and was a great respite.

Being forced to step away from all electronics my husband and I got to relax and have an amazing time in front of the beautiful mountains and under the amazing view of the stars. We thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous view of the mountains from this cozy suite. The home is decorated beautifully with attention to detail. We appreciated the personalized welcome sign, fresh roses, chocolate and coffee. The peace and quiet at night assures a restful sleep and you feel the tranquility the moment you step on the property. The owner is most welcoming with information and truly has the gift of hospitality. This is an idyllic getaway, perfect for a retreat.

“Sanctuary”. The perfect name for this little haven of rest and peace. This cozy farmhouse cottage is nestled in the midst of gentle Virginia mountains on rolling acres of beautiful-ness. So many favorite moments… the early mornings sitting outside to watch as birds and deer began to stir with the sun rising, hiking a trail at Peaks of Otter on the Blue Ridge Parkway, building a campfire out behind the house near the lake, and picking apples in a nearby orchard. A lovely lovely space overall!

We had a refreshing stay at this lovely farmhouse. Everything was just as listed. The view of the mountains was breathtaking, and we just wanted to sit in that gazebo all day!! So quiet and peaceful. The decorating of apt were so cozy and added to the charm. Very welcoming.

Great farm style space for 3. Loved the view and sitting at the Gazebo. 35 mins to Lynchburg. Closer to peaks of otter for hiking! The host was there to greet us. She even grabbed us extra chairs to offer a friend who came for a short visit before heading to town. Very lovely stay!

Truly is a Sanctuary
This property truly is a slice of heaven - appropriately named Sanctuary. The views, the wildlife, and our hosts were nothing less than wonderful. Our accommodations were spotless, extremely comfortable and so cutely decorated. We had everything we needed to make us feel at home. This was a return visit and we're so glad we came back! The peace, tranquility and beauty of Sanctuary lives on. Christine and Jason are wonderful hosts. We did a little hiking and walking in the Blue Ridge and got to know the town of Bedford which was just ok. The D-Day Memorial was excellent. Make sure you get connected to one of their free tours.

A heavenly peaceful retreat with the beauty of nature
It was really out of the way of the hustle and bustle of busyness but was so very refreshing. It was like God was wrapping you with all his beauty and peacefulness to be able to relax and enjoy.The house was clean and cozy and comfortable. Fabulous getaway!
Santuary is aptly named. This lovely cottage in the mountains was the perfect spot to unwind. The decor was lovely, the bed was comfy, the shower just right and the views were spectacular. The host was equally wonderful so this was a fabulous getaway for me and my husband!

This small farmhouse suite is perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. Me and my boyfriend love going to small towns to unwind, get away, and see places that are unheard of. This place was beyond our expectations. We had a big day on Friday and didn’t get to check in until 8pm but I’m so happy we did because waking up to the view was breathtaking. It’s an active farm so we got to see the cow and kittens that roam the grounds. You don’t have much service and there isn’t Wi-Fi but it’s nice to not be attached to the phone and just be together. If you’re looking for a place to unwind and be together this place is perfect for you! I hope you guys will enjoy it as much as we did (:
