"The location is in the perfect. Close to all of the dining and shopping of Kawaramachi. Transport is easily accessible to many locations and walking distance to a lot of attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful."

"Lovely relaxing stay. We booked the Hanare Karoi luxury twin with its own private open air onsen. It was much needed after all the walking so far this trip, we didn't need to go to the larger public baths on the other levels. They provided a shuttle bus from Ogoto Onsen station. The service was great from check in, to the staff at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The private lounge and unlimited Haagen Dazs icecream, drinks and juices was a really nice touch. We really enjoyed the dinner and breakfast in our own private dining area, with each dish intricately prepared and presented beautifully, the service was very attentive. "

"Loved having a drawer of kimonos to choose from to wear for our stay! The room was wonderful and we saw the beautiful sunrise from our bed. It was really a special experience. The private bath on our balcony was so nice and relaxing. The staff is super, very well trained and attentive. They make you feel special from the moment you walk in with a snack and a drink. We purchased some quality souvenirs from the gift shop. The half board is a grand experience. The onsens are unforgettable. I went early and had the whole place to myself."

"An exquisite experience in every regard - a luxurious, new boutique hotel with outstanding service from the concierges and the waitstaff in the restaurant at breakfast. The property is elegant and everyone who works here goes above and beyond. Rooms on the north side have views of the serene garden behind the hotel - as do every seat in the restaurant. The Okazaki neighborhood is quiet and lovely, away from the crowds and right near gorgeous temples and shrines, museums, and the philosophers path. This was our second visit this year and if we are ever lucky enough to return to Kyoto we will rush back to the Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei. Worth every penny for an experience like this. "

"The ryokan was absolutely wonderful. It was authentic Japan culture and style in an a breathtaking location. The food was an elaborate 11 coarse meal that was delicious Japanese cuisine. The whole stay was a a glimpse of Japanese culture and tradition. I highly recommend for the cultural tourist."
