"One doesn't really go to the lodge for its fabulous amenities. It is a piece of history and as such - sure, it's dated, no TV most rooms are a bit small and the washrooms are tiny - But clean. You go there for the volcano! This time around (our 5th time staying here) the volcano was right out front. Nice dinner in the pub with a non stop view. Plus we splurged on the large park side room and watched the action all night. The staff are truly wonderful and live the Aloha spirit. Highly recommend "

"Everything about it was exceptional and just our style. Going out on the deck and watching the sunrise over the beautiful landscape in the mornings was so peaceful. (You can see it pretty well from bed too) Simple and artistic architecture and decor. Everything we needed to cook in the kitchen. We didn't get a chance to meet Wendy, but David met us at the gate, was very personable and showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed, A bonus was, he brought us some produce they had grown. He gave us good advice for things to do in the area, (There's plenty) The whole place had a good energy about it, especially knowing all the work they did to reclaim this part of the jungle. If we come back to this island, we would definitely try to stay here. I'd also recommend it to friends. We stayed 4 nights, and could have stayed more. Thanks David and Wendy!"

"This B&B has you living in the jungle among the tree tops. The birds singing during the day and the coqui frogs singing at night made for a truly authentic Hawaiian experience. All staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was always healthy and satisfying. Our room was comfortable and airy. The price was excellent but I strongly recommend booking directly through Dragonfly Ranch's owner. We hope to return soon. "

"We really enjoyed the unique decor and setup. Our room had a separate coffee and sitting area, which allowed one of us to wake up early. The facility also covers heat and cold really well, with different built in heaters, a fan and extra blankets. Only small gripe - it has a fancy TV built into the wall that would not turn off. We suggested that the facility provide directions. On a positive note, the facility gave great directions and reminders in other areas. So, definitely come here if you’re hanging out in Volcano and don’t mind quiet hours starting at 9 pm. The town shuts down early."
