Room was great except the heater did not work properly. Staff brought us up portable heater and all was fine then. Very comfortable room.

The staff was so kind, I was a little late checking out and they allowed me a little extra time to get my things together. The bedroom picture decor was cute. Sheep on the walls. Lol.

This hotel is centrally located to everything. Art Gallery of Scotland, Royal Mile, Victoria Street, Right across from the Waverly Train station, St Giles Cathedral. You will get your leg workout walking thru Advocate's Close. I mean, we walked everywhere! The rooms were pretty much standard and amenities were lacking. No phone in the room. It was hot (we went last week of Sept!). We asked the front desk about air conditioning in the unit and they gave us a small fan to use. It appears they have plumbing issues because the sink in the bathroom had a really slow drain. I can't really complain because I loved Edinburgh so much and I will go back!

Perfect location on the Royal Mile. On the corner of Cockburn and Market streets, very near the train station, walking distance to so many things.

Royal Mile gem
Loved the location. Breakfast the next morning was very good with lots of choices. Employees at the desk were very kind to help us with the larger bags.

MotelOne is in the heart of Edinburgh. Walkable to anything that you would want to do in the area. We arrived by train and it was not even one block to the hotel. The breakfasts were plentiful. The room was small but comfortable and very clean. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area.

The property location is great, but the hotel is set up strangely, with several sets of steps to navigate with luggage. The room had no window, only a skylight, which made it feel like a cell. I would have asked to change, but the staff was unhelpful to another customer who wished to make a change, so I didn't bother.

Comfortable and quiet stay
I spent 3 nights at this lovely hotel. The bed was super comfortable and the room was quiet as requested. If you have to come to Edinburgh, I would recommend staying here. I've stayed at the Motel One in Glasgow as well and it was just as lovely. Motel One is my first choice for a hotel when in Europe.
