It was an okay hotel. It’s in a very good location, walkable to all the touristy locations, but was very disappointed that there was no parking at the hotel even though they state it in their highlights/ amenities. You can try to find free parking on the busy street or pay to park across the street. The room was very old and worn down, and the walls are paper thin, like the other reviewers said. You could hear people snoring next door. Breakfast was pretty good however and the pool was nice. Probably could find a better hotel at this price point.

Gem of a hotel!
We will definitely come back to this lovely hotel. Rethymnon is a great town, where the old town blends with the new, offering something for everyone and a great choice of reasonably priced restaurants. The Ideon is perfectly located on the sea front near the Venetian harbour on the outskirts of the old town. The hotel appears to have been recently renovated to a high standard. We had a room on the first floor with sea views and a small Juliet balcony. My only criticism would be that the balcony wasn't big enough to sit on and a small amount of road and noise from the cafe terrace below can be heard during the evenings for a short period. Other than that the room, although small, was very well equipped with lovely comfortable beds and good pillows and lovely bathroom with a fantastic drench shower and good quality toiletries. We booked on a B&B basis and breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. The cafe bar also offer a limited snack menu which is excellent quality and good value. The pool area is lovely but only has a limited number of beds however, although the hotel was very busy, we had no problem in finding free beds and parasols. Finally, the staff at the hotel are all fantastic, without exception. Always friendly, helpful and efficient. Thank you Hotel Ideon for a lovely stay!

Great Hotel to stay in Rethymnon Old Town.
Great hotel in a good location on the edge og the old town, 2 mins from the Venetian Port. I was only B&B so I can only comment on the breakfasts but they where really good. Very nice Apart Room, bedroom and living area and nice to have a fridge for milk and beers. If you are visiting Rethymno its a great place to stay and Rethymno itself is lovely.

Excellent hotel for a short stay (our room wasn’t big enough or had enough storage for a longer stay). Rooms were lovely as were bathroom but as I said a little small for a one/two week stay. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful, breakfast was good and pool a nice area too. Near the harbour and old town with a 10 min walk to the beach.

Perfect location, amazing staffs, affordable price
The room was newly renovated and it was way better than we expected. Clean, simple and modern with smart light and AC control. The view from the room is amazing. The location is perfect! The staffs are helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. Only the wifi is terrible. The connection is weak even in lobby, mist of the time we couldn’t even google something.

Nice Hotel in the Old Town
The hotel is well kept and friendly. It is in the old city very close to the old fortress. All of the old town, beaches and the fortress are within easy walking distance. Free parking was available in the lot across the street. There were nice Sea view rooms availale.

Great location, okay food, friendly staff!
The staff are very friendly and try to accommodate requests. We had a very early morning tour booked and wouldn’t have been able to have breakfast but the server at dinner heard this and arranged for a boxed breakfast to be waiting at reception for us. The room was incredibly beautiful!! With a little balcony over looking the main walking area and water. A head up! They require a 10 euro deposit for the parking pass in cash upon check in! It was very frustrating as we didn’t know this and I had to take out cash from an expensive atm so just make sure you bring the 10 euro deposit and you’ll be good:) also, the food is okay. Lots of choices but typical buffet food. Overall good stay and we would come back for the location.

The service was good - very helpful, polite and friendly staff everywhere you go, from reception to the restaurant to the housekeeping staff. I particularly loved that they actually thought to fold my pyjamas and lay them on top of the made bed. Super charming! The breakfast was excellent. Fruit, toast, cereal, great strained yoghurt, cakes and then a whole hot buffet section with eggs, sausages, potatoes etc. Very COVID-safe too. All staff & guests wear masks inside; the buffet is restricted to 4 people at a time, you must wear gloves to handle food; and they clean everything. Great location - in Old Town, close to the harbour restaurants & 20mins walk from the beach. But the hotel itself is a bit tired and drab. We had a 1brm "pool view" apartment (you couldn't see the pool) & it was very dark. It overlooked a CBD shop & at night it was incredibly noisy, with people walking below shouting & talking loudly until 4am. We asked to change, but they were fully booked. It had a kitchenette, but there were no utensils - no kettle, cups, cutlery, crockery or cookware. The hairdryer was really terrible; one of those wall-mounted ones that blow hardly any lukewarm air at all & is difficult to keep in an "on" position. The pool is nice, but guests reserve sunbeds with towels, despite big signs saying "please do not reserve the beds" - not the hotel's fault, just something to be aware of. Overall it's great service but I would have expected a bit more comfort for the price paid.

this is very well located in the old city. it is a very budget friendly hotel. the hotel has been semi renovated to be clean but could use a more with-it decorator. staff is friendly works well together. breakfast is quantity generous but could use an upgrade in quality. 5 5
