The service was good - very helpful, polite and friendly staff everywhere you go, from reception to the restaurant to the housekeeping staff. I particularly loved that they actually thought to fold my pyjamas and lay them on top of the made bed. Super charming!
The breakfast was excellent. Fruit, toast, cereal, great strained yoghurt, cakes and then a whole hot buffet section with eggs, sausages, potatoes etc.
Very COVID-safe too. All staff & guests wear masks inside; the buffet is restricted to 4 people at a time, you must wear gloves to handle food; and they clean everything.
Great location - in Old Town, close to the harbour restaurants & 20mins walk from the beach.
But the hotel itself is a bit tired and drab. We had a 1brm "pool view" apartment (you couldn't see the pool) & it was very dark. It overlooked a CBD shop & at night it was incredibly noisy, with people walking below shouting & talking loudly until 4am. We asked to change, but they were fully booked.
It had a kitchenette, but there were no utensils - no kettle, cups, cutlery, crockery or cookware. The hairdryer was really terrible; one of those wall-mounted ones that blow hardly any lukewarm air at all & is difficult to keep in an "on" position.
The pool is nice, but guests reserve sunbeds with towels, despite big signs saying "please do not reserve the beds" - not the hotel's fault, just something to be aware of.
Overall it's great service but I would have expected a bit more comfort for the price paid.
