I think the best point of this hotel is it's location. Being on a quieter street in Shinjuku, it is calm and quiet but within a ten minute walk you're in the heart of all the activity, with so many restaurants, bars, various shops. It's also very accessible to the train system -- although Shinjuku station can be very overwhelming - so that's another location plus. The hotel does feel older, the rooms are small but comfortable, they are clean, but it does feel a bit outdated and needs to be freshened up. The staff was very helpful and many spoke English. The breakfast there is pretty good, too, with both Japanese and Western options.

Would be nice if the rooms have more drawers / closets / hangers. The bed is hard and the pillows are small. Would also be nice if the pajamas are the 2- pc kind (top and bottom). The staff are nice and friendly. Lots of amenities provided. However, would be nice if hand / body lotion is also provided.

This my double bed room for one person
Pros: 1) Cleanliness: The entire facility and rooms are very clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment. 2) Whole-House Water Purification System: The hotel has a water purification system, ensuring that all the water inside is delicious and safe to drink. 3) Well-Stocked Amenities: The hotel offers a variety of amenities, including razors, hair wax, bath additives, instant coffee, and tea bags, making for a convenient and pleasant stay. Cons: 1) Identification Requirement: During my check-in, despite being Japanese, I was asked to present my passport. I believe it would be acceptable to use a driver's license or another form of ID. It felt excessive to require a passport, especially since I may have mentioned that I live overseas. Other hotels I stayed at did not require a passport or driver's license from me as a Japanese citizen, which was more convenient. 2) Room Size: The double bed room felt a bit small. A little more space would have made for a more comfortable stay. 3) Limousine Bus Schedule: Although there is a limousine bus service, the timing did not align with my flight, which meant I had to leave the hotel the day before my flight. It would have been great to stay another night at Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku if the bus schedule matched my flight.

This was probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. There was peoples hair on the pillows, the towels did not dry our body and overall just a bizarre experience.

When looking for a hotel in Japan it's imperative to find a hotel that's centrally located to key transportation infrastructure, safe and secure for its guest. The hotel was clean, operated by friendly staff, included modern amenities, restaurants, and is comparable to many Hiltons I've stayed in. The biggest bonus to selecting this hotel was integrated transportation. Starting from the airport utilizing the airport limousine bus service that goes directly to this hotel, was immense. It cost $25 per person to this destination (2 bag max, not including carry-on's). Just go to Bus service counter adjacent to baggage claim for ticket, then to bus stop (3 -5min), 1.25hrs to Hotel, get off.... Boom, your there. Shinjuku station is 10 min away and is in the center of the city that brings everything to you. High end shopping to casual bargains are just next door. Fantastic restaurants, local entertainment, and amazing access to the JR Rail make this one of our favorite places to stay.

As far as I and my grandsons were concerned, there was nothing to dilike about the Sun Route Plaza Hotel. Everything we were looking for was within a 5 / 10 minute walk. ( Shopping, Railway Station, Pub ) The staff were really helpful, Checking In & Checking Out, and those I spoke to had really good english. ( Much better than my Japanese ) We have already discussed going back next year.

Needs refreshing,it's feeling very very very dated. All else, it's a small Tokyo style minature hotel room. It's convenient with HOTEL SHUTTLE, which is very important to have. It's not exactly near the shoppings areas of Shinjuku but it's near enough. You get the convenience and serenity of being not that close to the bustle.
