I genuinely love this hotel and I'd definitely return if it was just me and my husband this time. I certainly wouldn't do it with my children again - I'd find a more spacious and family friendly hotel. The renovations were painful. I'm sure they weren't doing construction in the entire hotel, so Im really not sure how I ended up being so unlucky as to be placed in a room that seemed to be right below/above/beside the knocking and drilling that began between 8-8:30am! Every morning. For all 5 days of my stay. Unfortunately I was unaware of the $20 daily resort fee, and when I checked in, it wasn't mentioned to me at all. I only discovered it when I went into my account to Zelle someone and noticed several hundred dollars charged by the hotel. So since I discovered it at the last minute, I wasn't really able to take advantage of whatever this $20 daily fee gave to me - which really isn't much unless you decide to use every tea bag and coffee pod in the room. Every day. The snacks they said was there for our use at the front was hidden away in the back "because there were too many children around taking them" (their words, not mine) so you had to request them. The concierge did give me a handful of granola bars though, and it saved my kids from starvation on their flight back home. So yay for that! Finally, the location of this place is unmatched! Metro center is a block away, Gallery Place/Chinatown is about 3 blocks away. Everything is walkable! I'll be back!

Hotel was clean and room was very clean. However thermostat wasn’t working and I was HOT, and my entire family and trouble sleeping. Called the front desk and still was stifling in the room. I’m an asthmatic and has asthma the room was so hot, even after maintenance “fixed” the thermostat.

Thin walls led to a lot of noise throughout the stay. Request for a room not facing the atrium as it generated too much noise as early as 7am. $95 for 2 people during breakfast buffet is outrageous.

There may have been construction. At times it sounded like hammering. The concierge and bell service were very friendly. The toilet in the guest bathroom was loud and then overflowed.

The Grand Hyatt is a good place to stay. The hotel and our room was clean. They were attentive to our needs and were easy to talk to. It is conveniently located close to the Metro and made traveling around easy. We would stay there again.

Great location and nice room. Price for the room was fair. Parking is $35/night. Lots of other fees and taxes, which seemed expensive and unfair .... but it's DC. $23/night for a "destination fee."!!?? Some construction ongoing until October of this year, so can be a bit noisy from 9 am to 5 pm. Very close to metro and nice restaurants.

Wonderful location. Staff and concierge were so nice and polite. Rooms clean enough and vacuumed. My only complaint was that they overlooked a soiled shower curtain. It was a spaghetti sauce stain or something and was a bit chunky. I didn’t bother complaining though. I just avoided touching it. My room came with free buffet breakfast at the Cabinet restaurant. It was delicious and the highlight of our stay. No issues getting it comp’ed. Folks cleaning the rooms did come and clean a bit late in the day, but better late than never. They were very nice and even gave us extra towels and body wash when I asked. We treated everyone respectfully, and we got the same in return! They held out bags when our room wasn’t ready, and they even held them for a late departing flight after we checked out. Stellar people. So happy we chose this place.
