Staff very friendly however restaurant staff lacked knowledge about wine or details about the food on the a La carte menu. The a La carte menu was expensive & limited. The food was pretentious & quality didn’t justify the price. Wouldn’t have evening meal there again much nicer places to eat in Helmsley. Spa facilities were nice & free for hotel guests so an extra treat. Room was large & comfortable, bathroom was ok but starting to look like it needed a deep clean with mould building up a bit. Having said that it was a nice hotel & they were very accommodating about leaving the car in the car park before & after check in times.

Excellent hotel. Room was clean and spacious and comfortable. All staff were top notch. Facilities were wonderful, especially the pool and spa area. Perfect location being a very brief walk to the village centre. Beautiful walks nearby. The castle and abbey very close too. Lots to do and see in the nearby area. Best place we’ve stayed so far!

The room and facilities were excellent. The Service was generally very good, however staff were a little stretched at breakfast and quality of food and service suffered. Took a while to take orders, coffee request forgotten and toast burned.

The breakfasts and breakfast dining room staff were very good. However the dining room was cold and music seemed to be playing incessantly - hardly a peaceful setting for the first meal of the day. The bedroom was also cold and I think the lack of quality control of the hotel environment is a real issue. Although staff were helpful and charming for me the hotel lacked a cosy atmosphere and no one seem d to be in charge

Favourite hotel and never disappoints. Thr staff are wonderful and David who serves breakfast never fails to start the day with a smile.
