Good morning. My husband and I reserved this room before our cruise for two reasons. 1. We have stayed at Tru hotels before and like them for their cleanliness And 2. This hotel had high reviews. Unfortunately, during our stay, we did not find our hotel to be cleanly. The hall way was not sweep, as well as the hotel appearance was run down. The were holes in our blinds in our room. When we went to go outside to sit, the furniture also had rips and tears in it. When we approached the hotel staff about some of these issues, they were not friendly. The front desk seemed to have a language barrier, and issues with rooms not being ready until 4 o’clock. I felt bad for them, as I know it is out of their control. It is very obvious that management is not strict, and does not take pride in the hotel. Also, we were charged for a hold, which I understand, but we were not told about that up front. We had to go back down and ask the front desk again, about this charge. My father in law travels for a living and is a diamond member and stays at this chain primarily. He has never had an issue like we have seen here. He is the one that has recommended us to reach out to Customer Service, because he knows that Hilton holds their properties to a higher standard. We are over all disappointed, especially for the cost of the room. If I wanted to stay in a run down place,I would have stayed two blocks over in the Comfort Inn, and saved $200.
